Illegal immigrants are leaving the country in search of warmer weather and better health care (file picture) Failed asylum seekers are sneaking out of Britain - because they are fed up with the poor healthcare and bad weather.
Scores have been caught trying to break past border controls in recent weeks, according to immigration staff.
The majority of those who have been found are from Afghanistan and Iraq, said Les Williams, a chief immigration officer for the UK Border Agency.

Unless I misremember my geography, the only land border the UK has is with Ireland. Were they trying to swim the English Channel or North Sea??
“Scores have been caught trying to break past border controls in recent weeks”
HUH?
You would think that they would have the exit door held wide open for them.
Hell:
Where the food is British.
The police are German.
The cars are French.
The lovers are Swiss.
And the whole thing is run by Italians.
Traditional Brit cuisine is easy to make fun of, but nothing beats pub food IMOP. Ploughman's lunches, apple and stilton sandwiches -- lovely.
And the cream teas...
Okay, now I'm homesick (not really from the UK, but I lived there for a while and used to visit every year...)
“The food-I thought the food in the United Kingdom was quite good.”
Oh yes—the hot salted beef, the beef and Guiness pie, the roast chicken, the pasties...Yummy!!!!
Actually when I was talking about good food in the United Kingdom, I meant to say the very good meals served in Indian restaurants in the UK.
They also have a land border with Wales, but Scotland and Wales are both included in the term UK (as well as N. Ireland). Besides, Scotland has similar weather and the same healthcare system so it would not benefit them to step over the border into Scotland. Cui bono?
Ah—yes, that too!!!!
“A lot of Afghans & Iraquis arent known for liking anything and will whine anywhere.”

You may be confusing Afghans and Iraqis with Dimocratz.
You might want to consider a parallel development program, using Roman or Medieval catapult technology.
Heresy!.
Being British, I grew up on and I love Wimpy’s.BK is ok, it is McDonald’s I avoid like the plague...
Maybe this is thwe solution to our problem. We can institute universal health care and turn up the air conditioners full blast in California.
Notice the chairs outside for smokers and this was December last year.
Hot salted beef I thought was jewish food not traditional British fare. I have only had that once in a Jewish resturant Golden Green exclusive Jewish residential area in London.
I have a tradition English roast dinner each Sunday IMHO even with all the variety we can now get including international food a simple roast dinner takes a lot of beeating.
I agree Wimpy is far better but more expensive and is more of restaurant probably not disimliar to the American dinner concept so take longer so often I settle for McDonald’s.
Is roast chicken on Sundays considered English as well?
We also serve it with roast potatoes and roast parsnips that are crisp and ooze just a little of meat fat if available or if not we tend to use either vegetable oil or duck or goose fat that supermarkets and butchers sell.
