Let Lauren Live!

LAUREN RICHARDSON - YOU CAN HELP!
By Judie Brown

It has been a source of ongoing sadness to read of the difficulties Lauren Richardson’s father has had over the course of the past several months. For those of you who are not familiar with her case, Lauren overdosed on heroin on August 28, 2006. She suffered oxygen deprivation and, as a result of the overdose, is now in a coma and unable to speak out for herself. At the time of the overdose, Lauren was expecting a baby. Her parents honored what they knew would have been her wish and did all they could to keep her healthy and comfortable until the child was born. Today, though Lauren may not be aware of it, she is the mother of Ember Grace, who was born in February 2007.

Since the birth of her daughter, Lauren remains unable to speak of her concerns, but she has a loving father who is doing all he can to protect her from suffering the same fate as Terri Schiavo. However, Lauren’s mother, who has been named her legal guardian, is sadly not of the same opinion and is working with attorneys to pressure the courts to permit Lauren’s starvation.

Lauren’s father has kept hope alive, even at times when there appeared to be no hope in human terms. Lauren’s father is a man of hope in Christ and is dedicated to spending every breath he has on defending Lauren, regardless of what it might cost him in physical exhaustion and worldly goods. The most recent update for those concerned about Lauren tells us the following:

We struggle at times as we seek to share with the public the details of what is happening with Lauren because of the disagreement we have with Lauren’s mother. We cannot understand her reasoning in refusing a path of hope, healing and restoration for Lauren and insisting on causing her death by withholding food and water from her. The issue in Lauren’s case is the eternal truth that all people, no matter what their medical condition, bear the image of God and deserve basic care and an opportunity to be restored to health.

Bobby Schindler, Terri Schiavo’s brother, has written about Lauren in an editorial earlier this year, "False Compassion," and is working closely with Lauren’s father in order to provide expertise that he is uniquely qualified to share during a trying time like this.

There are many links on the Life for Lauren web site that will assist you in tracking this case and learning who is supporting Lauren’s ongoing care and who is opposing it. More importantly, there is something you can do to express your concerns.

ACTION NEEDED NOW

The governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner, is being asked by pro-life Americans across this nation to intervene in this case in order to save Lauren from what many fear is an imminent court order dictating that Lauren be starved and dehydrated to death. I am asking you to be one of those who communicates your passionate belief that Lauren’s life is sacred and deserves to be protected from those who would order her death. The governor’s e-mail address is governor.minner@state.de.us.

Further, it would mean a great deal to Lauren’s father, Randy, if you sent him a copy of your e-mail to Governor Ruth Ann Minner. Randy’s e-mail address is Lifeforlauren@aol.com

During a recent visit to Anchorage, Alaska where Bobby Schindler was invited to speak, he told a reporter from The Catholic Anchor, "Once we accept that killing is an acceptable answer to human suffering, we lose any type of parameters. Euthanasia is a form of abandonment. It is not compassion."

Truer words were never spoken. As I frequently tell people who argue that we pro-lifers are being heartless and cruel for fighting to defend the rights of a "hopeless case," "God is the author of every human being’s life, and He has never given permission to a single one of us to arbitrarily rob another human being of life for any reason including disability or illness."

As Flannery O’Connor once wrote on the subject of false compassion, "In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness. And tenderness leads to the gas chamber."

Lauren Richardson is not terminal – she is severely disabled. Lauren Richardson should not be murdered.

Crist may be emboldened to pick www.judgegeorgegreer.com for the Fla Supreme Court. Under that scenario, judicial homicide would become the norm.

Did you hear about the woman in West Virginia who was deceased for 18 hours and they cooled her down and they revived her? She said she was glad to be back.

Thanks, Phil, for that YouTube reminder.

Now, Governor Minner has that chance to be a contender or get a one way ticket to Palookaville. Delaware could be the little state that shows the rest. She would be lauded by good people and smiled upon from Above or she could bend to the earthly powers for a few pieces of silver which will tarnish before even spent. Same applies to all complicit officials.

Good people of Delaware, spare this innocent from most brutal execution! Governor, please declare this killing cruel and unusual! If the courts rule she must be put to death by this ghastly torture, please grant her a stay, a reprieve!

Dark forces will try to convince you it is possible to hide, to ignore, and to deny and with time it will be forgotten. They say the same to mothers tempted to abort their children. But it will come back, the stain will not go away and you will be haunted should you let this unfold, for the stain will be on you for eternity.

People are cast at times into powerful roles, as in the Bible with Judas and with Pontius Pilate. Literature celebrates wrong choices as well as with Lady MacBeth who could not rid herself of the blood stains. Edgar Allen Poe repeats it in "The Tell-Tale Heart". It always goes that way. Tempting as it is to hide behind that mirror, it is two-way. The world sees and the Heavens see.

Governor Minner, fate may place you in that role of clear choice of good or evil. May you choose good!

Let's see, now, who keeps this topic alive despite their desire to wash the MacBeth stain? Why, it is the media, the very ones imploring us to move on! Here is a reprint from a 2005 article without otherwise explanation.

.................................

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - The Rev. Ed Martin does not want to squander the attention that the Terri Schiavo case has given his cause. In the month the anti-abortion activist spent outside the hospice housing the severely brain-damaged woman, he has given his business card - emblazoned with a logo of an adult hand protectively holding a baby - to every reporter who has approached him.

In the wake of Schiavo's death, protesters like Martin are trying to hold on to the national media contacts they made while demonstrating outside the hospice, hoping to use their outrage over the Florida woman's death as fuel for future activism. For the groups joined together on this case - anti-abortion protesters, disability rights advocates, euthanasia opponents - the aim is to keep the issues alive after her death...........................

Activists hope to keep up momentum... Groups seek to take on other 'right to life' issues; 'Allowed ... doors to be opened'

Wow, the Obama Nation of Islam takes it on the chin...

Thread by wagglebee.

Tampa, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Four women who were injured emotionally and spiritually by their abortions and regret their decisions confronted supporters of Barack Obama at a rally this week in Florida. The members of the post-abortion group Operation Outcry stood on the sidewalk holding signs that read “My Abortion Hurt Me."

They were able to share their message of abortion's destructive effects with over 6,000 people attending the rally.

“I wanted the people to realize what their support of Obama means when you think about the damage abortion does to the thousands of women and men daily in our nation and the loss of our children," Rebecca Porter told LifeNews.com...........

Again, we see "futile" care redefined as "futile" life worthy of snuffing. Could this trend in Australia be linked to the seed planted in Texas with the Futile Care Law? Or maybe, it goes further back to Hitler's Germany.

Regardless, we may note this oozes from the Greens Party, which perhaps could be called the Gang Green.

FAMILIES will be encouraged by the Federal Government to let their "unresponsive" loved ones die if their medical treatment is costly and futile. The new proposed health guidelines, to be given to Health Minister Nicola Roxon within weeks, coincide with a Senate report on a euthanasia bill introduced by Greens Leader Bob Brown.

The guidelines centre on withdrawing treatment - such as tube-feeding - from coma or brain-dead patients if procedures are "risky, intrusive, destructive, exhausting, painful or repugnant" and cost outweighs benefit or success. ...........

Youth in England, meet Youth in Asia...

I demand to be dehydrated to death. How is that for a card to carry? Thread by wagglebee.

Town hall officials are giving residents advice on ending their lives if they become very seriously ill.

In a move that has triggered controversy, they are handing out ‘right to die’ cards that allow holders to refuse emergency treatment.

The cards, which are available in libraries and surgeries, were the idea of an employee of Salford City Council....

Are councils right-to-die cards a shortcut to euthanasia? (U.K.)

Torturing pets is cruel in southern Florida. It is beyond the pale to treat little animals is such a barbaric way, and certainly not vicious killers, but if one is an innocent human being, well, then even the State will help using the same method.

Thanks, FV, for the tip.

Now Governor Minner of Delaware may face such a moral dilemma. Would she allow a poor doggie to face such cruelty? What about a condemned criminal? What about an innocent human whose father simply wants a chance for her to live? Will she do what they do in Florida, or in old NAZI Germany?

And what about the pets? Were their papers in order? Did they have Living Wills? Did they demand to be dehydrated to death?

....................................

NEW PORT RICHEY -- The dogs faces were sunken. Their ribs pressed against their taut stomachs. Three of them were locked in a cage in the abandoned home.

The police report said all the dogs appeared to be starved and dehydrated. The power had been off since May 14. Neighbors complained about the smell. It was stifling hot inside, the floor covered in feces and urine.

Then a New Port Richey police officer watched one of the dogs die.

"It looked to me like a skeleton with skin on it," the officer wrote in a report.

That's why police arrested Carrie Michelle Posey-Feddersen on Saturday night on one felony count of cruelty to animals involving death and three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals......
