I will pray for Ted Kennedy. I will leave his fate up to God.

I can’t believe this thread is still open! Thank you, moderators.

Prayers for Sen. Kennedy and his family in this most difficult time. I wouldn’t want to wish something like this on my worst enemy.

May he be healed along with all others of the Jewish people requiring healing.

And should this illness lead to his end may he call out to the Lord in faith like the thief on the cross and receive his salvation is my prayer. Selah!.

On a political level, this man drives me nuts. I vehemently disagree with him on so many levels, and there are so many times when I’ve heard him spinning on TV, when I’ve become angry and switched the channel. I always think of poor Mary Jo Kopechne, whom he left to drown in his car while he swam to safety and spent the next few hours agonizing over what the impact would be on his political career.

But on a human level, I just have to wish him well. This is truly awful news, and I wouldn’t wish it on even my worst enemy. This poor family has had more than their share of tragedy, and now, here is one more. Prayers up for him/them.

Johnny Oates (Baltimore Orioles/Texas Rangers) baseball manager was 58 when he died in 2004 of a glioblastoma brain tumor.
He survived 3 years.

Jesus Christ gave His life on the cross and was victorious over death for all who believe and receive.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosover believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".. John 3:16

This my prayer for Sen. Kennedy that he goes to heaven.

He was probably thinking to Dick Howser.

Having lived in Mass., I expect that once Ted's ailment was announced, a number of Democrats in and outof office (esp Joe Kennedy Jr) began angling to be the annointed choice for Candidacy of his Seat.

AND Who will the 'Pubs run?

I found this on the web:

Damage to the left parietal lobe can result in what is called "Gerstmann's Syndrome." It includes right-left confusion, difficulty with writing (agraphia) and difficulty with mathematics (acalculia). It can also produce disorders of language (aphasia) and the inability to perceive objects normally (agnosia).

My wife was diagnosed with glioblastoma in January, 2005. She passed away in December, 2005, right after our 25th Anniversary.

I'm so sorry for your loss, LCS.

I’m sorry to hear that, Luke. I hope you soon get better news than you currently expect.

I don’t like Senator Kennedy’s stance on a lot of issues, but I wish him and his family well in this. He has had to be the patriarch of the family for many years due to the deaths of his brothers, and they must be just devastated.

Prayers for all of them.

If anyone is interested in the talk in Boston on this subject google ‘ WRKO ‘ and once at the station, click on talk show host Howie Carr. Howie is the biggest conservative talk host in Boston with a huge following here in New England.
He has been talking about this for two days and has been quite respectful even though Howie truly hates the senators politics.
Also, the callers have been respectful ( for the most part ) with Howie bleeping out unkind sentiment. Every caller has stated they do not like Kennedy's politics.

Had an aunt that died from it. Lived 19 months. Had very aggressive treatment-at one time she was so irradiated no one could come near unless wearing those X-ray tech aprons.

End stage is not something I would even wish on Hitler.

He really needs to resign.

“It’s treatable but not curable. You can put it into remission for a while but it’s not a curable tumor,”

He must feel trapped, with no way out.

I was just reading an article about Lee Atwater’s final year. What a horrible way to die. As I wrote earlier, I don’t wish this disease on anyone.

I am so distressed over the many posts that have been deleted. Damn it! Knock it off, people! You don’t have to admire Ted Kennedy to pray for his soul and pity him now. Show some compassion. Surely we can act better than the Ds and libs acted when Lee Atwater was diagnosed with this frightening disease.

All of those things are quite possible with any disease or injury affecting this portion of the brain and the worst part is that you do of course retain your intelligence while all these things are happening beyond your control.

Very, very difficult stuff. I’m not a religious person but I do send my sympathies to those diagnosed with these things.

For some interesting reading on glioblastoma, read Another Day in the Frontal Lobe by Dr. Katrina Firlik
