PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police officers have asked for an apology after they said organizers of a Barack Obama rally set up Porta-Potties on a memorial honoring fallen officers.
Earlier this month, 75,000 people gathered in Waterfront Park in downtown Portland to hear Obama speak at a pre-primary rally.
Officer Thomas Brennan, a seven-year veteran with the Portland Police Bureau, said he was happy to help at the rally after being called in on his day off.
"On short notice, a lot of people had to cancel trips. But they were glad to do it," Brennan said. "It was very memorable, in more ways than one."
Brennan, who controlled the crowd near the Portland Police Memorial, noticed several Porta Potties set up in the middle of the memorial. Brennan had been at the site five days earlier for an annual memorial service and a flag was still set at half mast on the day of the rally.
"There was plenty of room elsewhere so space wasn't an issue," Brennan said. "So someone used some really poor decision making, whoever elected to put them there. I mean, it's somewhat hallowed ground, I guess you could call it."
After several days, Brennan attached a photo he took to a letter and e-mailed it to dozens of media outlets and the Obama campaign.
Brennan said officers haven't heard back from the Obama campaign. He said someone owes an apology to the families of the fallen officers.
"Not for a moment do I think that Mr. Obama had anything to do with this," Brennan said. "But somebody at his campaign at a local level made the decision to put them there. And I just want an acknowledgement: 'Hey, we made a mistake.'"
A representative with the Obama campaign responded Wednesday morning and said the Porta-Potties were placed at the memorial because of a safety issue for wheelchair access.
Teri Sorenson said there was no disrespect intended and the campaign had not responded because local offices have shut down until Obama becomes the official democratic candidate
Do you think he or his wife would be able to run AGAIN for the White House if word got out that he even received oral sex while deploying US troops overseas on the phone?
No, they just thought the lawn could use a good sprucing up.
The symbolism is not lost on me.

Obama’s people saw an American flag and they figured that it was the ideal place for porta-potties. They are lucky that someone didn’t tear down the flag, cut it into strips, and put it on one of the music rolls.
Remember, these are the people who put up pictures of Che Guevara and whose leader can’t be bothered to respect our National Anthem.
Neither can I. The placement is no accident,only a fool would not have known.
There now exist two America’s. On one side notions of duty, honor, personal responsibility, self-sacrifice, freedom, and patriotism endure. On the other side the notions of the day are self-indulgence, socialism, and globalism hold sway.
The two sides both speak English, but that does not mean they say the same thing. Liberals flippantly refer to our troops as Nazis and worse. They view themselves as holders of the holy truth of socialism and any who disagree are evil.
When someone views you as evil for no reason other than you disagree you may as well start buying ammunition. They have already made their choice.
While Obama may be personally blameless for this incident, the kind of people a candidate attracts says something about him.
I guaran-damn-tee they would have thought about the significance of portable johns if it were some sort of memorial for King or some other black. These people suck.
Again, there was no apology for disrespecting every police officer who has given their lives to protect and serve. TERI SORENSON should be ashamed and the Obama campaign should send out an APOLOGY not a “no intent”. Thats the problem with liberals...they never take responsibility for their wrong doings. I am a polled at the response to the Portland Police Officers. If any one knows Teri you should pass along the disgrace she has shown. If I ever meet Teri I will have a field day on telling Teri off for the lack of respect they have for men and women who have died to in Portland to Protect their ass. You Teri should be ashamed!

Hell, I’m a bit surprised that so many Obama supporters are actually potty trained...given they’ve obviously got $hit for brains.
