That leadership camp is called Pahuk Pride and at full camp would have 96 campers between 13 and 17, mostly on the younger end. There is normally between 15-20 youth staff, and then probably about 6-7 adult staff. Last night they would have practiced emergency first aid, and tonight would just be dinner and a presentation on how to make ethical decisions.
I have attended the camp for the past 5 years, (1 as a camper and 4 as staff) but couldnt go this year because I enroll for my college classes tomorrow.
This is so sad!
Local (Lincoln, NE) news just said something like 93 campers betw. the ages of 15-18 and 24 or 25 adults there. Homeland Security in IA said 4 dead and 40 injured. One of my best friends from college lives very near there and I’m afraid one of her kids might have been there . . . damage throughout NE . . . please send prayers for anyone affected!
This would be the camp right across from the KOA campground then., right?
