Report: Israel Held Drill As Preparation For Attack On Iran

U.S. officials say Israel carried out a large military exercise this month that appeared to be a rehearsal for a potential bombing attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, The New York Times reported on Friday.

Citing unidentified American officials, the newspaper said more than 100 Israeli F-16 and F-15 fighters took part in the maneuvers over the eastern Mediterranean and Greece in the first week of June.

It said the exercise appeared to be an effort to focus on long-range strikes and illustrates the seriousness with which Israel views Iran's nuclear program. The newspaper said Israeli officials would not discuss the exercise...

Israel, and the US, will not attack Iran, and Iran knows it.

It would be a one way trip for the Israeli pilots. If the US allows them to overfly Iraq, it will be viewed as the US attacking Iran. Which we do not have the men, material, or money to do.

We can't even finish up the job in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran is an order of magnitude greater. Couple that with Russia getting very nervous about NATO on all over her western and now southern borders, and it could set up a world war.

I’m really confused by this revelation that Israel has been doing a drill to hit Iran.

The biggest advantage you have against your enemy is SURPRISE! Why on earth would Israel want Iran to know it’s coming to get their little project and make it a cement parking lot ..??

And .. if Israel is really planing this .. are they using the USA to give out the information? .. because Israel may have told us they were going to hit Iraq’s nukes (years ago), but we never made it public.

This just seems strange to me that this exercise has been made public.

Why is it heroic when Israel does it?

Don't know how "heroic" it might have been. But it was a message. The same message that SAC used to send with it's non-stop around the world flights. Only both more and less so. By demonstating that they had the capabilty to conduct a *conventionaL* strike at the same distance as Iran is from them, they've made such an attack much more credible. Without the ability to condict a conventional strick that from from their own airfields, the Israelis woudl be stuck with the Samson option. Nukes, on missiles. The lack of necessity for using nukes, makes any threats more credible.

Hopefully, like with SAC, the message will be received and their will be no war, but with Amanutjob, it's hard to say if any deterence, short of introducing him to his 72 virgins and the 13th Iman would do the job.

The left wingers in control of Congress and the Obamination would be outraged. However, their outrage would have no impact on what was done.

These actions by Israel would insure overall safety for its citizens for decades. The proxie/armies/fronts for Iran like Hamas would have no funding, and their scumbags would be hunted and putdown by the IDF and Mossad like rabid dogs.

Iran and Syria in the areas of former military bases and nuclear sites would glow and be off limites for several decades.
