What Obama Should Say On Iraq (Interesting how the MSM now tells Obama what he should say)

Barack Obama needs to give a speech about Iraq. Otherwise he will find himself in the unusual position of having being prescient about the war in 2002 and yet being overtaken by events in 2008. The most important reason to do this is not political. Iraq is fading in importance for the public and, to the extent that it matters as an electoral issue, most people agree with Obama's judgment that the war was not worth fighting.
The reason to lay out his approach to Iraq is that, were he elected, the war would be his biggest and most immediate problem. He will need to implement a serious policy on Iraq, one that is consistent with his long-held views but is also informed by the conditions on the ground today. This is what he should say:

How "prescient" was a left wing dope in 2002 for opposing the war (and still opposing it) if the war now is being won? And in an energy crisis when Saddam Hussein no longer controls these major reserves and US companies are about to drill in Iraq?
Obama was wrong then, and he is wrong now, embarrassingly wrong.

Doesn’t matter what he says, they’ll report what they want anyway.

I find it ridiculous that the man even got to the point that any one should think he should give a speech on Iraq.

Barack Obama is so articulate he doesn’t even have to read the scripts written for him by speechwriters anymore.
Journalists will just insert what Obama SHOULD be saying...

The MSM isn't even hiding the fact that they're in the tank for Obama. I remember when the MSM was claiming President Bush should just say he made a mistake but they'll never ask Obama to say he made a mistake by not giving Iraq a chance.

The public has turned off the MSM so now they'll get Obama to repeat what they want.

It’s too late for B. Hussein to make a speech like his friend Zakari suggests. BHO has been wrong about Iraq, he’s wrong about the WOT and applauded SCOTUS’ horrendous ruling on Osama’s constitutional rights.

The Fareed Zakaria who wrote this is one of the people they are saying could be Obama’s Secretary of State.

I want to know what Obama thinks, before the MSM gets to write his talking points, about todays SC ruling that strips the states rights to execute child rapist.

I find it ridiculous that the man even got to the point that any one should think he should give a speech on Iraq. As I read somewhere here, Barry O.'s a 'post turtle' (a turtle on top of a fencepost in a western state): He didn't get up there on his own. He doesn't know what to do up there. You have to wander who put him up there.

"We face threats in Iraq, but the two greatest ones, as General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker have testified, are Al Qaeda (which is wounded but not dead) and Iran. Both are a direct consequence of the invasion. There was no Al Qaeda in Iraq before 2003, and Iran's influence has expanded massively since then. This is the new mantra from The Left. Al Qaeda, an organization that was capable of bringing down the two largest buildings in New York 7 years ago, an organization that decided to take the war to the Americans in the cities of Iraq and has been DECIMATED on that battlefield and has failed to strike in any way on the U.S. homeland is somehow judged to be stronger now than in 2001. That is simply not true and any journalist that makes that claim is simply spouting Dem Talking Points.
And Iran, rationing gas at home and having their butts kicked not just by the U.S. military but by the Iraqis themselves find that they have American troops on two borders and the U.S. Navy parked off-shore while Israel contemplates when not whether they will add to the carbon content of the atmosphere by bombing the Iranian nuclear facilities back into the middle ages. It would nice if the idiot who wrote the article would explain to his readers why Obama, who wants the U.S. out of Iraq, wants to establish a policy in 100% agreement with the Iranians who also dearly want us out of Iraq. If being in Iraq strengthens Iran then why in the H do they want us to leave?
Idiot journalists drive me nuts.
