Former White House press secretary Tony Snow died Saturday after a long battle with colon cancer. He was 53. His father, Jim Snow, 76, who lives in The Villages in Lake County, talked about his son with Sentinel reporter Gabrielle Finley.
"I saw him in the hospital, spent four or five days with him. I think the hardest thing is he looked like he was making a recovery on Thursday.
"His sister called me Thursday and said he had been able to sit up for about 15 minutes and they had reduced the amount of oxygen he had been on. Things were kind of looking up.
"His brother called and said there was hope. His doctors thought so, too; they were pleased.
"The prognosis was never great, but he was such a fighter. Friday, he just went downhill. He was so weak. He couldn't fight anymore. . . .
"He was on the speaker's circuit, and he loved to be with people; he loved to speak. He was always well-liked, but he liked his family the most, though. He loved and respected the president. But he was devoted to his family, and he wanted to make money to take care of his family. . . .

May he rest in peace. Prayers for his family
I’m upset that fine people like Tony die and retarded gasbags like Al Franken and chrissie matthews are still breathing.
This is how I lost my religion. - And as another great conservative and Freeper bids us goodbye, the liberal tide is rising.
Even the GOP is casting us aside.
RIP Tony. RIP
You should read the comments after the article. I left a couple myself. But the two others were terribly vicious.
Yes very sad for the family... and the Lord grieves at their pain ...Don’t know what religion you “lost” but Christians accept what the Lord has in store. Jesus never loses us.
In times of distress Christians believe even more and their faith gets stronger...there is everlasting life.
Yes, but you know Tony would just smile that smile of his and go on.
Final point: My secular description of consolation was less secular than you might imagine. The simple impulses to practice compassion make absolutely no sense in a world shorn of meaning, guided by mere caprice, and eventuating in a dusty casket. There would be no reason to feel empathy, sympathy or love. But we do, whether we consider ourselves believers or not. And the pertinent question to ask once we grant to one another our shared humanity is: Why do all generations of mankind share the same basic precepts, same feelings of compassion, the same altruism especially toward the young despite wild changes in the natures of societies themselves. Governments have evolved radically over the last two milennia. Basic moral precepts have not. And the overwhelming question the one that led me, at least, back to faith is: Why?

yeah, that’s so very true.
Which is why I didn’t bother leaving a comment. Waste of energy and time. Idiots. We lost a good man.
Yes, he would. I just posted my opinion and I'm not returning to that cesspool again.
I'm not the man Tony was, but oh well, I stated my opinion as to just why I call most liberals “liberal trash.”
My wife died of colon cancer at 45. For 8 years, her doctor told her she had Irritable Bowel Syndrome. By the time they caught it, it was a full blown level 4 cancer. Prayers for Tony’s family, and please everyone get a second opinion with something like this.
Hey Bill, I just read yours :) Way to go!
... Christians accept what the Lord has in store. Jesus never loses us.
Sorry, I don't buy into that. Not for a second.
- Thats the mindset that let the Jews be herded into the gas chambers without any resistance.
I accept nothing, and I fight or resist until death. - God would like that, were he to exist.
Thank you for your reply and good day. - Bill
I’m sorry for your loss. God bless.
Very sad and a tough way to go.
Typical for the loony left. Tony would say, they are "smoking rope"!
Each one of us CAN do this--if not for ourselves, then for Tony.
Never give up.
BELIEVE.

Tony did.
Their hatred is a direct ratio to how much Tony embodied GOOD.
Evil often squirms most and screams loudest, when faced with its direct opposite.
Dittos. His interactions on FR showed him to be an unflappable gentleman. May he rest now in our father’s loving arms.
