It means they’re an extension of a leftist institution aligned with democrats and left-wing causes, and have been for some time. Don’t be obtuse. Using FactCheck.org as some sort of definitive source for anything is like using Wikipedia or Snopes.

Not that it matters in this case. The birth certificate is a non-issue. There are 4,750,912 things to hit Obambi with. This birth-certificate troofer business isn’t one of them.

Well this has to be a first. A lawsuit with evidence based in part on entries in Wikipedia? My daughter’s high school teachers won’t accept that as a primary source for a term paper, much less a federal suit. I doubt this will last any longer than it takes a judge to laugh it right out of court.

The question is (a) whether he was born in the US, and (b) whether his use of an Indonesian passport to go to Pakistan proves that he was once an Indonesian citizen and precludes him.

How does asking questions "prove" anything?!? I swear, people leave logic at the door of these threads.

He certainly sat on the board of Chicago Annenberg Challenge. I believe that Ayers was also on that board, but I don’t know that for a fact.

Please excuse the formatting - This is a non-cleaned up OCR of the Compaint Cordially,

It seems very oddly written -- as if by an Internet jockey and not an attorney. Hope that doesn't hurt the cause.

Late to the thread- haven’t read it yet- but this guy bringing the lawsuit is a 9/11 truther- which is exactly why no one is paying attention- he also brought a suit against Bush/Cheney for 9/11.

I am honestly not interested in supporting this guy in any way, shape or form.

He has held, and maybe still does hold, Indonesian citizenship which also makes him ineligible for holding the Office of President. Can't have dual citizenship and run for President.

Where does the Constitution say that? (Hint: it doesn't).

However, even if he renounced his Indonesian citizenship there is still a problem, he was adopted by his stepfather, his name was changed to Soetoro, there is no record that he ever changed it back and because he lied about his name and having held Indonesian citizenship this also disqualifies him for holding the office of President.>

Where does the Constitution say that? (Hint: it doesn't).

There is also the fact that most likely(since Indonesian law says you can only hold one citizenship)his step father ivalidated his American citizenship(if he actually held one)in order to declare him an Indonesian citizen.

If Obama was born in Hawaii, he is a natural-born citizen. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled (in Trop v. Dulles,<./i> 356 U.S. 86 (1958)), that if you are born in the U.S. you are a citizen for life and cannot lose that citizenship except by your own voluntary renunciation as an adult.

Bottom line: except for the claim that Obama was not born in Hawaii, all of this is legal gibberish.

Don’t get hung up on the legal issues. This is designed to give Obama a POLITICAL problem at the convention, not a short-term legal one.

So why would we want an obvious lightweight like BHO to be disqualified? To replace him with a stronger Democratic candidate? For pete’s sake, keep him the ticket till Nov 4.

Obama was on the Annenberg Challenge (Chicago) board prior to 2006.

Hooray. This is the best news I’ve seen during this long campaign. I’m sure Hillary has seen this coming from the day she ‘suspended’ her campaign. Thanks for posting this. As of 13:45 EDT, this is the only place where this is being released.

"The constitution says you cannot hold dual citizenship and run for office of President."

I hate to say this fellow FReeper, but the Constitution is silent on the subject of dual citizenship. Probably because there was no such thing in the 18th century. I think it would be a real stretch though, for a court to decide the Constitution would allow it! Especially since it clearly states that the office be held only by a natural-born American.

As recently as the early 70s, the USA did NOT recognize dual-citizenship for adults, At age 18, those eligible for dual-citizenship with another country had to officially choose the USA or the other. It has since changed and I can only imagine it was a democrat initative.
However, dual citizenship does make one ineligible for a security clearance!!

No, it won’t. This is not going to hurt BO at the convention or otherwise.

Interestingly, this Town Hall blog states that the “Fight the Smears” Obama website has now removed his birth certificate from the site.

Except for the update:

UPDATE - the certificate is once again back up on the site - http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/birthcert
