Call me crazy, but didn't Prince Andrew get in trouble when he wore a Nazi uniform to a costume party?

Why would Burlington Coat Factory openly sell knock off Communist Uniforms?

If we don’t stop Obama, you can either order a uniform in your size or a body bag in your size. At least they are capitalist enough to sell to the market.

For the Obamamaniacs.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how Nazi's became associated with the right and Stalinists remain in good grace with the left.

Best regards,

I’m going with the “ignorance” theory. Most likely their buyers are 20-somethings who didn’t pay attention in world history. (This is why whey make their living shopping.) My bet is they just thought they were “cool”.

Media, hollywood, music and fashion are typical propaganda tools to market a product and/or a way of life.

I don’t think World History is taught in schools anymore. It is politically incorrect.

Actually, if you travel to Vietnam or any of the former soviet bloc countries, there is a nice little business of selling kitsched up communist era clothing and propaganda.

Consider it the Fashion world’s version of Mel Brooks movies.

"Why would Burlington Coat Factory openly sell knock off Communist Uniforms?"

Don't know - maybe if a larger percentage of their apparel is made in communist countries, possibly their thinking is why shouldn't their lines be represenative of that workforce ratio? disregarding the fact much of their communist workforce can hardly afford the garments.

It's a screwed up world we live in.

In fairness, bikers have been wearing German style helmets and Iron Cross symbols for years. While these things are associated with both Imperial Germany and the Nazi regime, it’s the later that provides the context for their fashion choices.

Russian stuff is “cool” now because they are “standing up to the big bad US government”.

But I think more explicitly, cultural communism is growing because of hatred of Christianity.

I don’t think World History is taught in schools anymore.

I don't think it is being taught, either. I'm 45 and I had a really great history teacher in high school. He was a fabulous story teller and everyone looked forward to his classes. My wife is 10 years younger than me and she has little knowledge about American or world history.

I think whatever happened in the skools happened between the late '70's, when I went through publik skool, and the late '80's when she went through. The only major thing that happened during that time frame regarding education was the creation of the Department of Education on the Federal level......thank you Jimmuh Carter.....

...thus supporting the “ignorance” argument! Maybe it’s the “Revisionist World History” course that caused this gaffe.

Cameron Diaz I believe.

She had a purse with a Maoist symbol on it and took it with her on a trip to Peru. Obviously she was "unaware" (i.e. too stupid to know) that Peruvians have been getting slaughtered by Shining Path (who are Maoists) for decades.

That’s not a uniform, a designer’ fantasy which uses Soviet orders.
