I received the following in an email from a kool-aid drinking friend who apparently is a member of MoveOn.org. It shows the MoveOn line of attack on Palin and the weakness of their case:
Dear MoveOn member,
Yesterday was John McCain's 72nd birthday. If elected, he'd be the oldest president ever inaugurated. And after months of slamming Barack Obama for "inexperience," here's who John McCain has chosen to be one heartbeat away from the presidency: a right-wing religious conservative with no foreign policy experience, who until recently was mayor of a town of 9,000 people.
Huh?
Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:
She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1
Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2
She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3
Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4
She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5
She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered speciesshe was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.6
How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.7
This is information the American people need to see. Please take a moment to forward this email to your friends and family.
We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:
She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. Rose M., Fairbanks, AK
She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. Christine B., Denali Park, AK
As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. Karen L., Anchorage, AK
Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.Sherry C., Anchorage, AK
She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. Marina L., Juneau, AK
I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK
So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.
In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country. In the next few days, many Americans will be wondering what McCain's vice-presidential choice means. Please pass this information along to your friends and family.
Thanks for all you do.

Agreed. Comparing their top of the ticket to our second in line (where she wins most of the time!) definitely weakens their contender. I hope they keep beating this drum for the next couple of months.
Thanks for the post! You saved me the trouble of going to MoveOn.org nad having to clear my browsers cache shortly there after.
OK - I agree with the previous posts. The way the opposition is replying to Gov Palin shows you the level of fear they have of her. In one phone call McCain took Obama’s Temple Mount Speech and put it on the back page, fired up the conservative base and casued Joe Biden to go back to the doctor and replace the fake hair that just fell out.
And, unattractive!!!
By choosing this woman for his running mate, McCain has fired me up like we just had a reincarnation of Ronald Reagan. What I read about the Lib's complaints about Palin only cemented my opinions about how this person WAS the right choice at this time, irrespective of gender.
Concerning that 0300 AM phone-call, I can tell you what Moscow and Tehran are saying right now. "Oh NO, we hope that Sarah won't cock that loaded rifle that she always sleeps with as her answer."
Where all we get from the DNC is talk about restoring our image oversees, what we have here is a younger American version of Maggie Thatcher, the Dragon Lady. If Palin can stand up to the GOP and Big-Oil in Alaska, then she can easily stand up to two-bit tyrants like we have in Moscow, Havana, Venezuala or Iran.
When Regan shocked Moscow by his suppossed turned-off microphone comment about: "The birds fly in five minutes." Can you imagine their reaction when Sarah makes a similar comment about doing the same thing, but that when they fly, she will have them bring H*LL with them?
Teddy Roosevelt always said that we should walk softly and carry a big stick. McCain walks and talks softly. He now has a really BIG STICK in Sarah Palin.
I have restored faith in the GOP for my conservatism. Let the DNC and the MoveOn.org's stand up like pins at a bowling alley with their objections to a fine lady, mother and patriot. I did not know that McCain bowled a 300 game.
Really impressed from Texas.
“caused Joe Biden to go back to the doctor and replace the fake hair that just fell out.”
LOL
Thanks, but don’t get me started. It’s a grandfather thing, y’know.
“By choosing this woman for his running mate, McCain has fired me up like we just had a reincarnation of Ronald Reagan. What I read about the Lib’s complaints about Palin only cemented my opinions about how this person WAS the right choice at this time, irrespective of gender.”
This was my reaction too. I was prepared to sit on my hands for McCain, but with the choice of Palin I actually made a donation to the McCain-Palin campaign noting my contribution was “recommended” by Sarah Palin!
I know what you mean. Have a couple of wonderful grandkids myself!
:))
And therein lies the problem with the "feminists" - they detest any real woman who is unashamed of her femininity as they have a lifestyle where "femininity (read allowing vile men boff one) is a problem and they have to be strong (read they will go after and bed as many men as possible while detesting the men and themselves) in order to be "worthy". They have no understanding that you can be what God created you to be and not have to be ashamed of it, or consider it to be a deficit.
If they weren't so vile, one would have to feel downright sorry for them.
LOL, Lazer, don’t ya just love it. You know Moveon had to have already spent millions for commercials already in the can.
Yes, the elderly Country Club MoveOn members probably do want to appear “young and relevant.”
It’s bizarre, though, because I’ve even watched the transformation of a family member who is nearly 90 - and is extremely well-off, to put it mildly - into somebody who sounds like she should be in the Stalinist Workers’ Brigade or a member of the KGB. She lives in a very rarified environment, is a member of the richest Episcopal church in town, dines at the Yacht Club all the time, but spouts nonsense that could have been written by Michael Moore. Interestingly enough, one of the things that all of these ladies seem to hate (despite the fact that they all seem to go to some main-line Protestant church) is the Christianity of people like Bush and Palin. Oh well, maybe they’re just possessed...
Huh ? Reagan was 73 when he was sworn in for his second term. They can't even get that right.
they have to. Sarah Palin is a clear and present danger to liberals, much more than McCain or any other Republican precisely because she is an attractive inspiring conservative woman.
The Democrat may want to focus on McCain as a political strategy but the liberal must destroy Palin because she is threat #1 to their ideology.
Seems to me these Old Libs are trying to be accepted by their long time Lib friends and are feeling guilty for their lives of luxury and privilege.
His answer was: ". . . that the job wasn't done yet."
It looks like little old Sarah from Alaska raises her family like I did mine. How could I not be in favor of a woman and husband team that have the same "family values"?
A great "527" TV-ad could be showing Rev. (never) Wright saying: "G-D America." and say vote Democratic. Then show Sarah Palin's speech where she says: "Gob Bless America." and say vote Republican, VOTE AMERICA.
My wife of thirty-seven years is a Texas girl, played in bb in HS and college, was an elementary-school Physical Education teacher, mother of three, and can out shoot me. AND, she doesn't take any manure from anyone, especially me.
I guess there is hope for our country's next generations.
Welcome to the big leagues, Governor. Might as well get used to it.
If this is all the 'nut-roots' can come up with... the DBM will be forced to go with the Who is she?! angle for another week.
The decision was made due to junk science projections-- it is known as "Bi-Polar Bear Disorder."-- Not because of actual numbers.
I like your idea for an ad! My bow hunting daughter would love it too!
