Governor Sarah Palin has launched a slashing counterattack on her critics, telling the Republican convention that she had accepted an invitation to be Senator John McCain's running mate to serve the American people, not to win "the good opinion" of her detractors.

I have not been this happy in a while. I’m a military guy, and I have NO desire to serve under Obama who will waste the time (and a few friends lives) spent in Iraq to retreat to disgrace by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I just volunteered to be the voting officer for my squadron as an additional duty. I can’t (and wouldn’t) push McCain/Palin on anyone, but I’ll make damn sure everyone gets an absentee ballot. And the military is waaaay more conservative than the average US citizen.

The libs must be mighty scared. Two of the dem women (one was a congresscritter) were all bent out of shape over a button someone was wearing that said “Hottest VP from the coolest state” and saying how superficial this all was. I could almost see these two ugly shrill b-——s turning green with envy. Obviously whatever sense of humour they might have had went down the tubes tonight. Their cow of a columnist Liz Hunt doesn’t. She’s trying to imply that Bristol Palin was forced by her mother into having the baby for political expediency. What a miserable dried-up *itch to say such a thing.
