Biden: Palin Should've Talked About US Economy (yawn)

** EXCERPT **

WASHINGTON (AFP)--Democratic vice presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Thursday said his Republican vice presidential rival, Sarah Palin, missed the point in her critical convention speech by not talking about how to fix the country's economic woes.

Biden told CNN television that Palin, the Alaska governor who electrified party faithful, "had a very skillfully written and very skillfully delivered political speech and I was impressed with her.

But, Biden said, she failed to mention "the middle class or health care or about how people are going to fill up their gas tanks.

"I didn't hear a single word about how you're going to get our kids to college; so I was impressed with the speech but impressed with what I didn't hear spoken," Biden said.

Biden, running along with Senator Barack Obama, said John McCain's vice presidential pick did not offer "a single word or phrase about how to deal with the retirement security for people and social security.

"I didn't hear the word Afghanistan or Pakistan mentioned where the terrorists live. Where Al Qaeda is," Biden stressed.

(sarcasm alert)

Sure, Governor Palin should have talked about auction rate securities, credit default swaps, and the implications of deleveraging, with special emphasis on the likely direction of energy prices considering both geological factors and likely future innovations.

That would have been a real stem-winder!
(/end sarcasm)

Seriously, I think she is a great candidate. The dim’s complaints suggest they know it.

To their credit, both Oman and Biden have been incredibly gracious about her - so far (knowing their surrogates will do the heavy bashing for them).
I think they know they are on thin ice here regarding the hockey-soccer mom vote. They can kiss goodbye most of the modest Evangelical vote they had until now, but those on-the-fence mom votes are too valuable to lose now.

But, Biden said, she failed to mention “the middle class” Sarah Palin IS the middle class.

Good line! I hear Jeri Thompson on F&F say the same thing :)

I think it’s funny Biden admitted he did not watch the entire speech.

But then he goes onto criticize what she didn’t say.

Pray tell... how would he know if he didn’t watch it?

Now Team Obama not only wants to write their own speeches, they want to write ours.

Haha, this is really funny, when you consider how little Joe Biden offered when he had HIS chance to speak about "fixing the economy."

Biden is too stupid to realize that Palin’s significant and substantial discussion of energy issues encompassed both national security and our economy in ways that most politicians have never dreamed of touching with a ten-foot pole.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Energy = Economy, stupid.

She is one of the first, at least IIRC, who talked about domestic energy production not just in terms of national security, but also in terms of enlarging an American industry and creating good jobs for American workers.

Imagine what the energy sector could do for the economy once freed from the old thinking.

No, Joe, what she didn’t do (and what you really meant) is tell us how she was going to use government to help the middle class or address health care or about how government will give people money to fill up their gas tanks. She also didn’t say a single word about how she’s going to get our kids to college. And you know why, Joe? BECAUSE IT’S NOT THE GOVERNMENT’S JOB TO DO THOSE THINGS, YA FRACKIN’ IDIOT!

MAN, you got that right!

We don’t sit around hoping the gubmint will “get our kids to college.”

Just cut my taxes, take care of our nation’s need for energy, defend us and get the hell out of my way. I’ll get my own kids to college, thank you very much.

What a doofus. It’s great!

Bears repeating!

Oh, so now Biden trots out the implied “I didn’t even deign to spare a couple of hours to watch her silly little speech.”

Keep it up, Biden.

Exactly. The more the GOP talks about drilling the better their numbers get.
I heard Pelosi is now on board with “limited” off shore drilling and to counter that I think McCain should now come on board to opening ANWR.

But if you don’t use the precise words “middle class,” how will you get to make all your “class” envy points?

Oh, never mind.

Democratic vice presidential hopeful Joe Biden on Thursday said his Republican vice presidential rival, Sarah Palin, missed the point in her critical convention speech by not talking about how to fix the country's economic woes.

Guess he missed the points on energy policy that go hand in hand with economic policy.

BECAUSE BIDEN DOESN'T GET IT...
