Media to Republicans: We're Sorry (Yeah right!)

Media to Republicans: We're Sorry

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On behalf of the media, I would like to say we are sorry.

On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.

And could that be the real point of the attacks on the media? To unify the Republican Party?

No, that is simply the cynical, media view.

Though as Lily Tomlin says, "No matter how cynical I get, it's just never enough to keep up."

You know, Roger Simon, that's precisely the trouble we have had with Big Journalism - no matter how cynical we try to be about the Big Journalism, you consistently exceed our expectations.

It's to the point that we are gradually realizing that the "codes of ethics" you love to post on your walls are there just so you can snicker to yourselves that so many of us are such rubes that we actually think those "codes" mean something about what you will and will not do. All experience, frankly runs counter to the idea that those "codes" mean anything at all. They are just "boob bait" and nothing more.

What predicts your behavior is nothing to do with ethics and everything to do with what's in your own self - make that "special" - interest. Journalism is a special interest and, through the mechanism of the Associated Press, a monopoly one at that. It is not any objective reality other than your own interest which makes you collude with all other journalists to claim that journalism is "objective." The only thing which sustains that fatuous conceit is the fact that all journalists go along and get along with each other, rather than competing in the sense that the public takes for granted that you should. And really knows that you do not do.

The Right to Know

My posted comment to Roger Simon’s op-ed piece:

Wow, Roger... That is a really clever piece. Sounds like something you may have written in high school. You did go to high school, didn’t you?

Good questions you and your fellow liberal elites posed to Sarah Palin this week... “Why aren’t you staying home to tend to your needy family? How dare you accept McCain’s Veep nomination? What credentials do you have to be a heart-beat away from the Presidency?” Boy, those really are relevant. Now, where’s your list for The One? The Community Organizer? The guy who votes “Present”? The guy who chairs a sub-committee on national defense that has never held a meeting? The guy who hasn’t written a single piece of legislation in his career either in Springfield or Washington, DC? The guy who claims “presidential leadership credentials” because he’s run for president for the last 18 months? Funny, Roger: I don’t see any questions being asked? All I see is cheerleading from your “Creators Syndicate” slot.

Way to go, Roger! You’ve awakened that old Beast that I’m sure you hated in the past: the Great Silent Majority of this great land of ours. Keep up the good work.

Couldn’t stomach Cooper & crew-as usual.

“Keeping Them Honest” of course was all about McCain.

They are going to have an “exclusive” interview with the state trooper soon.

Why not the sister? Or both of them seperately?

You should be sorry for even writing this cynical article. Funny how they are trying to be cute when they are the ones wearing the pie on their face!

He’s lying. They didn’t ask questions - they pushed false opinions. I’ve known about Sarah Palin for 6 years and I’m nowhere near Alaska - I could have explained all of that to them. If I’m capable of knowing that, they certainly should have been. Instead, they lied. Nonsensical comments that she wasn’t “vetted”, covering over Thompson’s speech with that nonsense at least in Couric’s case, claiming she lacked experience when it eclipses Obama’s and have Couric lash back that those are just “Republican talking points” (very objective), invented “scandals”, no such scrutiny of Joe Biden, etc, etc, etc. I could go on but there’s enough to write a book in just the last week.

Absolute nonsense and intellectual bankruptcy from this writer in the implications being made.

Roger Simon is a leftist that realized that leftist treason would not look so good after 9-11. Voila, a sudden "conversion" to conservative unfortunately, we know it was for publicity purposes.

He just can't get away from the sleaze journalist standard procedure, it's just habit from the past.

And probably he's envious of Palin, he's on his third marriage, she's on her first, no story there.

CIC, this is rich commentary and should be included in your book.

I emailed and asked him to do two things:

1. Demand that Obama take a paternity test to prove he’s the “father” of his two little girls.

2. Inquire as to whether it was appropriate for Biden to continue serving in the Senate after he lost his wife and baby.

These suggestions are sarcastic, of course, I want no such things done. They’d be abhorrent. Just as abhorrent when similar was done to Sarah Palin. I’d never publicly question a baby’s parentage like that, and I’d never go after a person’s handling of a family tragedy. Biden has nothing but my sympathy on that.

Well, Roger, let's just look at the way you goons in media covered the arrest of Al Gore's son last year.

24 year old Al Gore III was busted for DUI, reckless driving (100 mph in a 55 mph zone ), pot possession, and a collection of prescription drugs that included Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall, -ALL obtained without a doctor's authorization.

Gee, that seems like an awful lot of medications. You don't suppose little Al might have been trying to sell some of those pills on the black market...?

Needless to say, you guys chose to employ a "hands off" approach to the story and it disappeared from the headlines after one day.

Hypocrites.

I posted this on the "comments" section to his website: Please add your list as well.

----

Funny.

You (and I'm making an assumption you will even bother reading this - since the MSM (unlike talk radio) accepts feedback from its customers - have made no reply, no discussion, no logical answer to ANY of the (valid) criticisms of your smarmy, prejudiced lies about your (the MSM's) attacks on Sarah Palin.

Then again - we vote with our pocketbooks, and over 10,000 subscribers have canceled their "US Weekly" subscriptions in disgust of "your" hate-filled propagandist cover photos and titles.

By the way, the MSM STILL can't find any links between Ayers, Dohrn, and Obama in 8 months - But I find 16 SEPARATE fund-raising activities and corrupt payback activities between the failed "communist organizer" (er, community organizer) and these terrorists.

Did Obama ever pass his Bar Exam?

Also, are you a good enough "journalist" to accept formatting in your back-alley two bit web site?

I managed to rattle Simon's well holed ship with some Phalanx fire. Glory hole secondary explosions were heard.

All Simon's pumps were engaged. I'd say his ship is sinking.

*******************************

Dear Mr Simon,

Having read previous comments I have nothing to add to what they posted about the US media's treatment of Sarah Palin.

However I would challenge you to examine Mr. Obama's activities in Kenya as closely as were Sarah Palin's as governor of Alaska.

What was the nature of Obamas work in campaigning for Odinga and the Orange Party in August of 2006. Why did Obama do so when Odinga's party had close ties with the Somalian Muslim Council , to whom he promised the conversion of Kenya into a Muslim State? What were the results of Obama's neo-colonial Chicago Black Power Politics in Kenya? Genocidal war between the Luo and the Kikuyu perhaps, in which a church was burned with 70 victims inside, at the hands of Orange Party activists? Thousands were maimed and hundreds of Kenyans died as a result of Obama's participation. Why hasn't the US media examined this Community Organizing work of Obama's?

Why have you not told America about it? THe US media has a dual standard and has lost any remaining respect the US public has for it.

Saddling the US with a president who had directly participated in a genocidal movment of the Orange Party in Kenya should be newsworthy for a presidential candidate. America would like to know why a presidential candidate would do such a thing? What was Obama's motivation for doing such work? What does such motivation mean for America should Obama become president? Will we too be subject to racial, inter-ethnic division and conflict. Is this Obama's Hope and Change as was illustrated by his activity in Kenya?

I won't hold my breath for your answer. I would like to be on the planet for a few more years.

End
