MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.
That experiment appears to be over.
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.
“The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into what’s supposed to be straight news programming,” said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

I love the smell of liberal flop sweat in the morning. It smells like ... Victory!
sofadude (in honor of the First Dude of Alaska), I can’t figure out what they are out of...is it anchors for the debates, the election.
I assume they are letting them keep their hideous programs, yes?
It appears that they think Gregory is best able to maintain a pretense ala mode de Russert.
I wonder what their viewer will have to say about this.

Happened to have DU open, don’t know my way around over there very well but couldn’t find anything.
I was reading earlier how upset they were that Sarah was going to talk to ABC as her first interview, upset that Charles Gibson would give her “softballs”. “Too bad she couldn’t get a real interview, like from Chris Matthews or Bill Maher”. Hehe, I thought it would be fun to see their response but I don’t see anything yet.

Wonder if he found a wife yet? He gave an interview to a magazine where he said he doesn’t have a job, lives with his mum and reads the koran all day while praying to allah for a wife.
