MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^

Posted on 09/07/2008 6:33:59 PM PDT by flyfree

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channel’s coverage of the election.

That experiment appears to be over.

After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.

The change — which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle — is a direct result of tensions associated with the channel’s perceived shift to the political left.

“The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into what’s supposed to be straight news programming,” said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

I wish Drudge would wait til he actually HAS a story instead of running crap like this. The “NYT baby” story is the same faux headline.

Mathews is bad, but Olbermann is just downright intolerable. Good riddens.

These clowns were making a mockery of journalism, for what that’s worth these days. I would not be surprised if the Obama camp “suggested” this to remove them being such easy targets for critics. Bottom line: They had run their course in their service as useful idiots. The Party had to make this move.

The two event may be related.

With McCain taking the lead and a victory possible, the last thing MSNBC would want would be to be shut out of a McCain/Palin administration

Another thought-MSNBC is in the tank for Obama-the jerks that are anchors now are helping McCain and hurting Obama. Replace those guys before it gets worse.
