Obama: Lipstick on a Pig (Did he just call Sarah Palin a pig and a stinky fish?)

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

How immature “The One” is. I don’t think I have ever heard a Presidential candidate say such a thing about the other side. Talk show hosts may say things like that, but someone running for the highest office in the land shouldn’t say that.

You may have a good point. However, just as an FYI, I was reading comments on a left wing blog site which suggests to me that a lot of liberals may also be having a problem with those comments made today. I think it is enough to cover this story for today, and just allow Obama to make his own next stupid comment (and I’m sure that he will).

I almost can't believe it. Obama is finished! What an idiot! And, the fact that he combined lipstick, pigs, and fish makes his whole intent sickeningly transparent.

Agreed. What if McCain used an old saying that is not racial, but would definitely be taken that way by Obama. Something like, “Let’s call a spade a spade, Obama does not tell the truth.”

His convention speech wasn’t presidential. And that speech will be remembered as the highlight as his career.

McCain’s speech was presidential and he conducts himself in that manner.

Obama is attacking Palin instead of highlighting his own resume. He has dropped the ball. No presidential candidate should spend thirteen days focused on a vice presidential candidate.

His campaign is tanking, fast.

He sees the writing on the wall and he is acting like he is desperate.

I have a feeling we’re one of those blue states that won’t see anyone. I did go to a rally for George W. in 2004 in Chanhassen. I hope McCain/Palin do a cursory stop. I’ll be there with my lipstick!
