Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."

EXACTLY -- what we need to trumpet is the FACT that he made his remark in the context of a very famous remark made just days ago about "what's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick!" He was most assuredly playing off that context to introduce the "lipstick on a pig" them...... that's why his audience went wild, they knew exactly what he meant. btw, NY Post has it at the top of their web home page now and they obviously know what he meant, too, since they juxtapose photos of Obama and Sarah Palin:

I wish Obama’s desire for the White House was just a simple sense of entitlement. But, I am convinced it is something more sinister.

After 9/11, I, like a lot of people, have tried to educate myself. I’ve done a lot of research and study. I am totally convinced we are in a long protracted war with an enemy that is patient, evil and completely committed to our destruction.

Our ability to win this war will depend on our understanding that this war exists and our ability to recognize the enemy.

I don't know what's worse- calling Sarah "a pig with lipstick," or calling Mc Cain an "old smelly fish".

This is not presidential at all. These are highly personal insults to both Sarah and John Mc Cain.

I'm only throwing out a concept to chew on. I have no data whatsoever to substantiate what I said there. It's just that this guy doesn't add up any which way you look at him.

I suppose, like a lot of people, I'm trying to use reason and logic to make sense of the guy, hence the stretch.

No. It would be catastrophic positioning on Sarah's part.

The line "Read my lips, no new taxes" was uttered by GHW Bush. He later went on to sign a tax increase and that broken promise came back to haunt him when he lost to Clinton in '92.

The video on Youtube, was posted as a smear of Palin. The person who posted it on Youtube was an Obama supporter, if you click on their name, you will see. That is how I got mixed up....
