The Obama campaign is mocking John McCain for not using a computer. From the AP story about the computer illiterate ad:
"Our economy wouldn't survive without the Internet, and cyber-security continues to represent one our most serious national security threats," [Obama spokesman Dan] Pfeiffer said. "It's extraordinary that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn't know how to send an e-mail."Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by "extraordinary." The reason he doesn't send email is that he can't use a keyboard because of the relentless beatings he received from the Viet Cong. From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.In a similar vein I guess it's an outrage that the blind governor of New York David Patterson doesn't know how to drive a car. After all, transportation issues are pretty important. How dare he serve as governor while being ignorant of what it's like to navigate New York's highways.

Obama shows himself to be the self-righteous CREEP that he is. Maybe the Obamessiah could HEAL McCain of his war injuries.
Maybe you did not read as was reported elsewhere that McCain reads his e-mail every night with Cindy. It is painful for him to type but he dictates his responses to Cindy who types them for him.
By the way, Rush was saying today that George Bush loved e-mail, but hasn’t sent a one since elected president.
It’s not something presidents do.
Fortunately, Barak will never be in that position.

How about an ad of John and Cindy sitting together, as she types out an email to Obama explaining _why_ he can’t type it himself? :)

Sorry, didn’t mean to pick on you ... hadn’t seen the several other replies that explained the situation when I posted.
The major problem she had was with her pet birds being in the same room. Their squawking messed up the commands. I learned the limits of limited web capabilities when I started out on WEB TV years ago. Hours fixing a problem on a computer still didn't equal my frustration with Web-TV LOL.
I have taught a quad with fairly reasonable hand use to use a keyboard and mouse though. Her computer is on the other side of the room from mine. I did a few modifications like an optic mouse and set it's properties fairly sensitive. She can use it enough to do things like looking up her interest etc.
Give me a freakin’ break. I’m saying they need to stay on message and clarify it, convince more people in battleground states that they truly understand economics and can steer us all through a mess.
Most people have very little grasp of basic economics, and still can be swayed by Hussein’s loquaciousness. McCain himself has given the libs ammo to say he’s behind the curve.
Gaffes and knife fights are good drama, but the bottom line is still the bottom line.

Yea I read it. I’m just saying there is technology out there where almost anyone with even severe arm & hand limitations can use a computer themselves or with minimal help.

Sure, agreed. Everybody adapts the way that works for them, though. And Presidents rarely use email anyway. I am still very curious why Obama thought McCain did not use email. This ad was very poorly thought out and makes him look bad in so many ways.
Palin in her convention speech: (who did not abort her child who she knew would be born with Down's syndrome) "...for those with special needs childen. Let them know they will have a friend in the White House."
Obama's and Biden's actions:
Biden at speech - pointing to a State Senator (whom he should have known was disabled and in a wheelchair): "Ask that man to stand up. Come on ,man, stand up, stand up! Oh my God!..."
Obama campaign ad: "McCain is a man so far behind that he still doesn't know how to use a computer. Can't even send an email..."
Now we know, just like all other liberals who advocate abortion of fetuses who would not be born perfect - Obama and Biden can't accept any human with special physical disabilities. They are sounding more and more like they have adopted Hitler's philosophy each day. Yet, they will tell us they just made "mistakes." OMG - are their handlers really so stupid to believe the public hasn't caught on? Or so inept that they don't have information that is public knowledge?

Erm, why does an e-mail have to take HOURS?
Does McCain, drive? Does he feed himself? If so, he can use e-mail. Don’t insult people with disabilities.
