Palin Criticizes Clinton Over Protest

Hillary Clinton has carefully avoided directly criticizing Sarah Palin, but the same courtesy apparently doesn't work the other way.

Palin's spokeswoman this morning issued a statement hitting Clinton for pulling out of a protest being organized by several Jewish groups outside the United Nations on Sept. 22 against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Clinton cancelled after finding out that Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, also planned to be there.

"Governor Palin believes that the danger of a nuclear Iran is greater than party or politics. She hopes that all parties can rally together in opposition to this grave threat," said Tracey Schmitt, a spokeswoman for Palin.

When Hillary, & Obama realized that Florida was not going to vote Democratic, they made a decision to pull the plug on the Jewish vote there and instead, go after the Muslim vote in Michigan hoping to hold that state. Recent polls have shown Michigan to be in a virtual tie between Obama and McCain, with one poll actually showing McCain up by 1%. The Muslim vote there could swing the entire state. If Obama loses Michigan, he loses the entire election. Polls in Florida have consistently show McCain leading Obama by 4 to 8 points. Partisan political gamesmanship at the expense of not only the Jewish vote, but the Nation as a whole. Shameful

Okay, a little Clinton-think here. Clintons plural detest Obama. Hillary's exit helps Palin with a weak corner -- many US Jews are afraid of evangelical-church-belonging, moose-hunting, pro-life women who are untested or questionable in their support of Zionism.

By withdrawing Hillary takes a time of heat herself, but she can easily build it back back-channel. But by that withdrawal Hillary creates a chance for The Sarah to stamp her Zionist credentials. Thus a big WHACK to the Obama-Messiah meme among many liberal US Jews.

I am calm. Just don't like being told to “lay off” when espousing my opinion. I don't agree with your take on this issue; but please give you opinion regardless. I view this as America vs Iran, not Hillary vs Palin, or Dem vs GOP. If we can't put our partisan differences aside to confront a common enemy; then whether we win the next election or not is the least of our problems. When this was first reported that Hillary and Palin were going to appear together; I thought that was good thing because it showed us as united, even even briefly. Hillary chickening out is what made this partisan. I don't actually care what bunch of hags named after an out of style sneaker think either.
