15,000 Jews Say `No` to Palin at UN Rally on Iran
Israelenews.com ^ | 9/21/08 | Richard Silverstein

J Street has just won its first political skirmish. Only a day or so ago it began a campaign to petition Malcolm Hoenlein and the Conference of Presidents against its decision to invite Sarah Palin to address a UN rally against Iran on the day the latter's president addresses the world body.

Jewish people tend to be self-flagellating. They love to stick "Kick Me" signs on their own backs

Do you realize how ignorant you sound? I suppose "they're really good with money" too?

You could use the same broad brush about non-Jews, they love to self flagellate and stick kick me signs on their back by voting for McCain, who stabs them in the back every time.

We use the moment to guide each other with logic and by pointing out where truth and propaganda divide, right?

And you show your wisdom and brains. Alot of anti-semitism in some of the knee jerking today. It gets in the way. But, you have shown that you get it and that what it really takes. You are right on the money. This is the time to stretch out a knowing and welcome hand, not to feed these J Steet creeps a victory by offending the very folks who's eyes have just cleared for the first time in years.

Rather, the question is whether Christians have truly repented and learned from this historic evil, and it takes time and repeated examples of Christian action that matches the sweet words to create trust that only 60 years ago was so terribly shaken.

That's like saying I should repent and aplogize for owning slaves.

I heard they were a tax exempt group and democrats [sic] via proxy threatened to pull their exempt status if they continued with plans for Palin to show.

Well, if they are a tax exempt group and the 'Rats threatened to pull their tax exemption if they invited Palin, that's all the more reason for the organization to support Republicans for Congress and the White House. Of course, for now, they'd have to do it in a clandestine manner because the First Amendment is a casualty of the tax code when 'Rats run the government.

I absolutely did not say or imply anything of the sort. Get a grip.

You said...

It's weird. Don't ask me to explain WHY so many Jews are self-flagellating.

You said this based on one person's interpretation of Jewish behavior, and then stretched this to a fact then used this to say "The vast majority of Jews in this country vote in the vast majority for the party of socialism, atheism, gun control, infanticide, and foreign appeasement." and then wonder why some one might be provoked. Talk about what you know about.

When Lynn Forester de Rothschild came out in support of John McCain she said the same thing that Dennis Prager ended up saying so many years ago.. what happened to the Democrat party? Many Jews have come to this A ha! moment. Jewish prayer teaches the value of peace, seeking justice, valuing the community as well as individual rights and attempting to use words to solve problems before coming to blows. These are deep values that can be cast in a positive or negative light but they are central teachings of the Bible that Christians and Jews share.

This thread is about folks who love Democrat power and all the evil that has come with that.. more than America and Israel. This has opened the eyes of Jews across America like no other event. Your words show that you have more to learn about Jews and Judaism, but I am calling on you to set away from your preconceptions and act like someone who can be trusted when the Democrats are making asses of themselves.

Someone please, please help me understand why Jews choose to vote for a Party of Islamic sympathizers? It defies logic.

My father in law in Jewish and was a hard core Republican even having his picture taken with Goldwater as well as both Nixon and Ford in the White House.

When Reagan won the nomination in 1980 and spoke about prayer in schools and a conservative social agenda he stopped supporting Republicans with his money and became a hard core Democrat.

Today, he and my mother in law have pictures of of themselves with Bill and Hillary in the White House as well as with Al Gore.

David Axelrod is an American political consultant based in Chicago, Illinois. He is best known as a top adviser to Barack Obama, first in Obama’s 2004 campaign for the U.S. Senate in Illinois and currently as chief strategist for Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.

Axelrod is the senior partner of AKP&D Message and Media and was a political writer for the Chicago Tribune. He operates ASK Public Strategies, a company that allegedly engages in “astroturfing” [1]. He is also a supporter of Cook County Commissioner Forrest Claypool, who helped Axelrod found his firm (under the name Axelrod and Associates).

Exceptions? What exceptions? Where do you find socialism and communism in the Tanakh (that’s “Old Testament” for the Rio Lindans)

Here’s a clue: Jews who believe in socialism and communism have rejected the teachings of the Torah and Prophets.

I'll bet the American-citizen Jews actually living IN Israel won't be voting Democrat this year.

You're most likely correct on that one. Even the usually left-leaning Jerusalem Post did a story about how Republicans Abroad (Israel Chapter) has reported amazing success in organizing lifetime-'Rat elderly American Jews to vote for McCain-Palin by absentee ballot in November. That story was posted here on FR at the start of a thread the other day.

Again, that doesn’t wash, unless Malcolm went and invited Palin without discussing it with the board in the first place. The Board voted to dis-invite all politicians in response to the nightmare of flailing that they were receiving from Democrat operatives, including threats about Tax Status and many other threats.

As some of these threats were backed up with letters offering legal action that would really cost real money to defend, and that the Rally had become threatened in that 3 of the sponsoring organizations had decided to pull out if it were to go forward with Palin speaking, it was decided to accept reality and move forward knowing that the Democrats would pay a high price for this despicable act.

I believe he is right in his faith that these tactics will hurt their authors and he needed to keep his eyes on the Rally that is left because Iran is still choosing an Evil path and they must be confronted without regard to who's feelings are hurt. Malcolm trusts McCain and Palin's support and just as an unbearable bore can ruin a party and make everyone want to leave. The boorishness is not soon forgotten. These Democrats have soiled the Party's name and the name of the New York Jewish community, and the American Jewish Community and put Israel at greater risk for no gain, just deranged hatred and this will be remembered.

I do understand there may be one small glitch in Palin’s acceptance of the invitation to speak. She’s requested that she be introduced by David Brickner, the director of Jews for Jesus, who spoke before her at her Alaska church less than a month ago. I don’t think this will cause Abe Foxman any trouble though, since he claims he has no problem with Palin lapping up a Jews for Jesus exhortation to convert us.

Can anyone establish whether this is true?

They claim to have gathered 20,000 signatures for their petition. I don't know if it is posted anywhere but even if it is it would be hard to tell from the names how many are not Jewish. I suspect that the Obama campaign put the word out, like they got their supporters to harass WGN for allowing an Obama critic to have air time on their radio station--they could have told them to go sign the petition.

Obama has no history of behaving in a bipartisan way, and I fear that if he gets to be President his instinct will be to try to win by silencing any opposing voices, by slanderous accusations of racism or by legal action (IRS audits, etc.).

Chicago isn’t the nation’s capital of organized crime any more, New York is. That’s not to say, however, that the mob tradition in Chicago and the mob tradition of the Democratic Party are dead, far from it.
