Gannett owned website. Headline and link only. Will look for another postable source. The article says the fire chief estimates the crowd today at Palin's rally at 70,000.

But it sure shows that Mr McCain has not done his research:

Andrew Cuomo and Fannie and Freddie How the youngest Housing and Urban Development secretary in history gave birth to the mortgage crisis

"There where only 20,000 tickets"

That doesn't mean anything. At first, they only let in people with tickets, then they let everybody in. If you don't have a ticket, it just means you won't get a good seat.

Jaw drop here, too.

Ya know, if he was only a
a savvy poker player like W,
but I just don’t think he is.

I wish he’d surprise me .. just
a little.

Well, Palin was a shock .. but
he says such freakin’ freaky things
some times.

70,000 is the population of the town (actually, towns), but the crowd that came to see her was estimated by the fire chief at 70,000, which would be 20,000 inside the ticketed area and 50,000 on the field with the jumbo monitors outside. Someone else estimated it to be about 100,000, incidentally.

AMAZING. Still hoping they will make a run through the rest of the South. No need to fly over... they need to drop in and make some speeches!

"Big deal, BHO drew 200,000 in Berlin. Oh, wait, Sarah’s crowd are actual voters."

Furthermore, she did not have to piggyback on a rock concert to draw her numbers.

The report has been edited by the News-Press since they published the original story. The original headline and article said 70,000. I imagine the MSM, which this paper is a part of, will be knocking the crowd size down overnight so that by the time the morning shows are on they’ll be saying it was only a few dozen old folks who got lost going home from church.

I didn’t hear that- was out of the room. Are you joking? McCain said Andrew Cuomo would be a good SEC chairman?

From The Orlando Sentinel:

It was Palin's first visit to Florida since being named to the Republican ticket and tens of thousands of people turned out to see the self-described "hockey mom" and former small-town mayor. Estimates ranged from 25,000 to 60,000 though the numbers were impossible to verify.

Whatever the total, it was huge, and hundreds sweated for hours under a brutal Florida sun that cooked The Villages' downtown to a toasty 90 degrees. The sun was too much for many, and officials estimated they treated more than 100 people for heat-related health problems.
