Palin visit draws large crowd

The Villages, Fla. - Thousands of people rallied around Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin during her visit to central Florida on Sunday.

Palin almost cancelled the trip due to rain, but the heat became a major issue for the elderly residents who waited under the hot sun for hours. More than a hundred people required medical attention, mostly due to heat related symptoms. The initial crowd estimates are between 30,000 - 60,000.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Palin walked onto the stage to Van Halen's "Right Now". Voters waved signs reading "No More Lipstick" and "Pitbulls for Palin."

"Florida with your vote we're gonna win and we're going to Washington to shake things up," said Palin.

Two new polls suggest that Obama and McCain are within the margin of error when it comes to winning Florida.

"It was worth waiting seven and a half hours to see her. It's history in the making," said Dan Matthews.

"She's fresh, she just energizes the whole campaign," said Bob Faasse.

"She's down to earth, she leads with the people at our level," said Austin Scott

No! The bloom is off the MSM's rose. They're getting everything wrong and their bias for Obama doesn't let them see what is actually happening in the election.

But, but, the MSM says the “Palin bubble” has burst. She’s yesterday’s news. People are bored with her, the newness has worn off, etc., etc.

Elsewhere estimate are OVER 70,000.

The number are fantastic. Do you have a link for that? I've been searching and searching and all I can find is 60,000 or less. Thanks.

That last picture.....is that Bristol, Piper and Trig Palin? It looks like Piper....if that?s her....has a microphone in her hand.

It's Willow, Piper and Trig. Yes, Piper spoke to the audience, thanked them because they all got to go to Disney Land there. Todd was there too. I watched on my pc.

A couple of points:

The Drudge Report is not enough. We need the MSM to report the truth. They won't do it willingly so they will need some help.

And yes this is going to cause some problems for Obama. It is now clear that Palin, and perhaps even McCain-Palin can outdraw His Highness, The One, Obama. So what does he do in Florida? Can he draw 60,000. Not a chance. How does he explain to his loyal followers the he cannot even match our VP pick. That's a problem for him. McCain needs to schedule outdoor events every weekend in the Battleground states and show Obama who is boss.

Another article said 70,000 - but then intimated that was only because she went to a Republican heavy area - and that the reason Biden, who went to Florida and only got 2,000 = was because he didn't “play it safe”

My feeling is that we can gauger better by the crowds than the polls.

Go, Sarah, Go!

maybe I’m the only one thinking this, but doesn’t her children’s names show lack of judgement on her part? lol

Maybe that can be the next article from the NYT.

“Two new polls suggest that Obama and McCain are within the margin of error when it comes to winning Florida. “

I fed ths quote into my BS filter and it came out...”McCain is handily leading in Florida”

You are right, they need to go to bigger places so the people can get to see them. How about football stadiums? Basketball arenas? LOL Play for the crowds and shake up the media/Dems.
