Joe Biden's denunciation of his own campaign's ad to Katie Couric got so much attention last night that another odd note in the interview slipped by.
He was speaking about the role of the White House in a financial crisis.
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

I think Biden said McCarthy caused the crash.
If McCain or Palin had said something so dumb they would probably have had to drop out. Maybe they are forcing Biden to say these moronic things so they can say he isn’t mentally able to serve so he will have to be dumped.

I think it’s a populist appeal to the historically-illiterate youth vote that Obama is counting: see, I’m an old white guy, but I’m really just like you, basically saying, “F*** history, it was a boring class anyway.”
Roosevelt was a rookie Governor of New York in 1929. Maybe it was on MSNBC. That would at least explain why nobody but Biden saw it.
