In another article on Yahoo Simpson Guilty On All Charges in robbery trial Simpson was quoted saying:

...he felt melancholy and that he was "afraid that I won't get to go to my kids' college graduations after I managed to get them through college."

That's Simpson for you. Always thinking of himself as the achiever. No credit to his kids for getting through college; for their efforts or anything. It is always about him, -- how he managed to get them through. What a selfish, egotistical person he is. Beyond that, he is simply mentally sick. Another criminal narcissist. Prisons are full of them.

That’s somewhat different than someone saying a “white woman” “deserved to die.”

I think there’s more to that post than was offered.

You’re looking at it upside down. It’s “OLS” - his initials.

Thank God it is a state charge!

Presidential pardon power is plenary, there is no review and no exclusion, it covers convictions by state and the Federal government. OTOH, even if Obama is convicted, a pardon would be a gratuitous slap at whites and he may be too savvy a politician to do it.

“Let’s hope President Obama doesn’t pardon O.J. on January 21st :(”

He wouldn’t be able to. This is a state conviction, the President only has the ability to pardon Federal convictions.

Before the verdict tonight, I was thinking about the whole thing. Being from upstate NY, I remember him playing for the Bills and I can tell ya, he was awesome. Stunningly awesome.

Isn’t he still like one of the top ten RB’s in history?

And even after he stopped playing, he had celebrity appearances all over the place.

There was no reason for what happened the first time. And the fact that there was a second incident shows how stupid he is. Stupid, or maybe just caught up in the lifestyle, something.

He should have made his peace and moved to Podunk, Iowa, and made his living signing autographs, counting his lucky stars at night.

Well at least real adults in Nevada did what pansies could not do in Calfornia, convict O.J.

The only thing that suprises me is why they would have a Sen. Harry Reid from Nevada.

As hard as it is to believe or accept, he has to testify to what he KNOWS TO BE TRUE. NONE OF US should wish anything different.

Lee was a expert hired by the defense who willingly accepted the job and the check to testify on behalf of OJ. He was not a hostile witness.

And as to testifying to what he knows to be true ... Do yourself a favor some weekend and read his testimony again and then tell me with a straight face that Lee delivered an honest and full accounting of what he knew to be true about the evidence.

Lee lent is stature and reputation to the cause of a manifestly corrupt defense team acting on behalf of a clearly guilty murderer. He implicitly and explicitly gave credence to a litany of illogical and inane defense theories, from planted evidence to "flying DNA". His testimony gave the jury a place to hang their not-guilty verdict. Lee's performance was disgraceful. And no amount of historic revisionism or recounting of his otherwise impressive resume can lesson that disgrace.

“(Nicole) was a white woman and deserved to die.”

So help me God those were her exact words.

Our criminal system is based on placing the highest burden on the state in order to convict. The government is not our friend and will become abusive without this basic foundation.

When a government is so inept that its evidence gathering methods are so flawed as to raise doubt, then the system of checks and balances is flawed. It should not matter what Henry Lee testifies. If the chain of custody was intact the doubt is not raised.

It is said that it is better that 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent man be convicted. Lee’s actions protected many innocent men from conviction by sloppy or politically motivated Mike Nifong types.

As a conservative I say to Henry Lee, thank you. Also as a conservative I say to the OJ jury, you disgust me.

While I very much agree with the overall sentiment of your post, one should take a long hard look at the actual testimony (not merely a hazy recollection of what he said at the time) of Dr. Lee before determining it merits thanks. A dispassionate examination of his testimony will not earn the thanks of those who believe in the cause of justice. He put his reputation in the service of a lie and that is a grave injustice.
