On the October 13 CNN "Newsroom" program, European political editor Robin Oakley pontificated to Sens. McCain and Obama on how the U.S. can be more liked by people in Europe:
"While we're on the symbolism, let me remind you how many Europeans see U.S. voters -- as a trigger-happy bunch with a Bible in one hand and a rifle in the other.... Does either of you senators have any serious plans to reduce the number of guns available in the U.S. or even dare to suggest it? That really would impress the Europeans, that you stand for change."

considering most europeans just don’t understand the vastness of our country, the wilderness, the wild animals, have any of them even seen a bear? a rattle snake? Do they understand that some people live so far from a police station that to self defend is necessary to their survival!

You know what makes them madder than anything? Us uncivilized folk don’t give a rats behind about what they think. That irritates them more than anything at all.
I would have to say it would be time to get it on against the government if that is what gets pulled. Take the offensive and take their life if they want to take our liberty....and take their guns.

I agree with you there is the potential for the backlash, however, I disagree with you on it being too little too late. We homeschool our children and two of them are in college now dealing with liberal professors daily and giving it right back to them. My two oldest are girls whoare avid personal responsibility, right-to-life, gun rights advocates and are carrying the torch of conservatism including reducing the size and intrusion of government in our lives. There are four more following behind them.
Remember, after Carter came Reagan. I believe we’re on the verge of the same awakening...unfortunately, it may be as a result of an Obama presidency, Dem controlled Congress and a stacked Supreme Court.
