Ayers Known As Scholar, Not Radical
AP, Aol News ^ | October 17, 2008 | By DEANNA BELLANDI

CHICAGO (Oct. 17) - These days, Bill Ayers doesn't want to talk about the Weathermen, the Vietnam-era radical group he helped found that carried out bombings at the Pentagon and the Capitol.

That doesn't mean the man who has become a political headache for Barack Obama is hiding his past. In fact, all you need to do is stand outside Ayers' office at the University of Illinois in Chicago to be confronted with it.

Ayers' connection to the Weather Underground is plastered on his door. A postcard for a documentary on the group shows an old mugshot of Ayers. Nearby is cover art from Ayers' 2001 memoir, "Fugitive Days."

But also affixed to the door is the title that reflects how Ayers, now 63, has become known in the past two decades in Chicago: distinguished professor.

"He gives of himself greatly to his students. He gives of his time, his energies, his commitment," said Pamela Quiroz, an associate professor who works in the college of education with Ayers. "He is just a superb individual."

Quiroz is among more than 3,200 people, mostly academics, who have signed an online petition protesting the "demonization" of Ayers during the campaign for the White House.

Communist “scholar” whose career is dedicated to radicalizing the youth (bombing didn’t work so well).

Obama’s Real Problem With Ayers
INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY ^ | October 07, 2008

Posted on Saturday, October 18, 2008 12:02:43 PM by jessduntno

Election ‘08: At an education forum in Venezuela, Bill Ayers showed the real issue is not his terrorist past. It’s the socialist revolutionary agenda that he and Barack Obama want to impose on the nation’s schools.

Still more evidence of how the media are in the tank for Obama was evident in Tom Brokaw’s description of Ayers on Sunday’s “Meet The Press.”

“School reformer” is how Brokaw identified the co-founder of the Weather Underground, the radical organization that, among other activities, bombed government buildings, banks, police departments and military bases in the early 1970s.

Yeah, right: Ayers is a school reformer in the same sense, as City Journal’s Sol Stern put it, as Joe Stalin was an agricultural reformer.

An idea of what Ayers has in mind for America’s schools was provided in his own words not 40 years ago when Obama was eight years old, but less than two years ago in November 2006 at the World Education Forum in Caracas hosted by dictator Hugo Chavez.

With Chavez at his side, Ayers voiced his support for “the political educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chavez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . I look forward to seeing how . . . all of you continue to overcome the failures of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.”

Ayers told the great humanitarian Chavez: “Teaching invites transformations, it urges revolutions large and small. La educacion es revolucion.” It is that form of socialist revolution that Ayers, and Obama, have worked to bring to America.

a terrorist by any other name is still a terrorist. Ayers never paid for his crimes, and in criminal justice there is a term called “just deserts”. What it means is that all crimes get paid for, and if not by the judge and jury, then God will call in the chips eventually for the criminal’s “just deserts”....it’s in the scripture ‘you reap what you sow’...it’s coming for Ayers and Dohrn...sort of like O.J. Simpson is getting now.

"He is just a superb individual." Words fail me.

This shows the extent to which Marxism dominates the educational system in America.

Perhaps the AP will also grace us with an article on what Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh might have become if he had survived the mistakes of his youth.

Geeeez, they continue to call him a 'radical'!! Unbelievable.

In addition to being a radical,,,

He is a TERRORIST!!!

Many radicals are NOT TERRORISTS--another of the many nice efforts by the MSM to continue to 'sugar coat' a reference to an unrepentant TERRORIST!!

Ayers worked up a scheme to funnel $100+ million to leftist agitprop “educators” and got Obamessiah to be his point person as Chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.

What a great plan, create countless radical “workshops” to propagandize teachers on politically correct b.s. and radical “hope-change” hate-America nonsense. Ayers has merely taken “The Revolution” into schools and colleges because he didn’t get too far with it “in the streets” — because he discovered many years ago that trying to overthrow the US govt. and the entire economic system is a bit harder than simply bombing, robbing, shooting, and propagandizing. It takes longer - you need agitprop organizations like ACORN working like termites over many years, and you need an empty suit propagandist like Obamessiah to weasel his way into power.

Ayers is the same anti-America scumbag he’s always been (”America makes me puke” and “I don’t regret setting bombs. I don’t feel we did enough.”).

He merely found a “gig” that does not involve current overt violence because he found that to be less than successful.

Some half wit at the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) write a similiar editorial and he was a WSJ staffer. Murdoch bought WSJ/Dow Jones about 6 months ago. The paper has been going downhill. The editorial page was conservative but always pro-illegal. The writers of stories were okay usually conservative.

Now the writers of stories sound like AP writers - awful. The editorial board is also going downhill. Peggy noonan’s stupid editorial the other day bashing Palin was more evidence. I will be dumping WSJ for Investors Business Daily (IBD) very soon. I have subscribed to WSJ for at least 15 years. IBD is awesome.
