What's up with Fox News? Somethings amiss. They are going soft!

Posted on 11/02/2008 9:04:12 PM PST by rfmad

Starting about 3 weeks ago it seems Fox has started moving ever so slightly to the left. I don't know if they are afraid of the Fairness Doctrine or what but, other than Hannity, they all seemed resigned to Obama winning. Even Britt Hume's crowd has gone soft. I'm mad as hell about it! Anyone else notice this?

If it’s true, they’re probably hedging their bets by emphasizing their left just a little bit more now. Unlike here at the “fair and biased” freerepublic.com, Fox News is a 24 hour network with 24 hours to fill with quality stories all the time, and with a “fair and balanced” claim to justify. They depend on access to keep their stories at an acceptable quality.

I can see this as “sweetening the pot” to keep their present level of access in case Obama wins. If McCain wins, they can easily move “right” back to where they were before.

Then I have to watch Huckabee cuddle up to Bill Maher and Richard Dreyfus??? BLEECCCH!

I've always kind of liked Huckabee but that Richard Dreyfus interview was one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I was trying to follow what Dreyfus was saying but it made no sense to me. He also acted like he was too important to be there.

It started long before that. It became blatant when the Obamination beat the Cankles.

Australian born business reporter mostly, but fills in for Neil Cavuto and makes Neil look like a Dem.

In regard to Fox News, I feel like Strother Martin's character did in 'Slap Shot' when the Chiefs went soft for the championship game..." Oh! All my years of publicity! All the fashion shows, the radiothons, for nothing? They come here tonight... to scout the Chiefs! The toughest team in the Federal League! Not this bunch of... pussies!

Boy did you nail it.

Anything can happen though the odds against McCain are HUGE. I sure wouldn’t bet anything valuable against Obama.

Fox knows what’s up. It’s 99% likely it’s Obama. They are no dummies.

I’ve noticed that as well. I must say that the FOX women are far tougher on the Dims than the FOX men. The FOX women are taking the Dims to task every chance they get .

Greta has really stepped up to the plate to give Palin a fair shake as well ....Kudos to the FOX women .... the FOX men OTOH have been effectively neutered ...

Overall FOX has indeed joined the “let’s shape the race” media bandwagon .

Stuart Varney is an economic journalist, currently working for the Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network. Varney joined Fox News in January 2004 as a business contributor on many shows, such as Your World with Neil Cavuto. Varney will also occasionally serve as guest host for Your World and the shows on the Cost of Freedom business block.

Varney graduated from the London School of Economics. In 1980 he joined CNN, and hosted shows like Business Day and Business Asia. From 1999 to 2001, he hosted CNN’s Moneyline with Willow Bay. Varney has also worked for CNBC.

It’s reported that Varney quit CNN after he failed to get great control of Moneyline. Varney, an Episcopalian, was also outraged by CNN founder Ted Turner’s referring to employees who wore ashes on their heads on Ash Wednesday as “Jesus freaks.” When he was hired at Fox News he said, “I’m from that side of the fence that says there is such a thing as a liberal establishment, and it is alive and well in American media outlets.” He also said Fox News “moves everyone back toward the center.” [1]

Varney is also a regular panel member on the FOX business analysis and stock trade investment program “Cashin’ In.”

Strangely enough, I actually liked what Dreyfuss had to say on Huckabee. It IS true that we arent teaching our kids the Idea of America.

His style was a bit academic and pedantic, but I was surprised that I actually agreed with the substance of what he was saying.

Yeah........last night Mike Huckabee had Hollywood libs on his show!! The weekend before election day and he uses his 60 minutes with Hollywood elitists a..holes. NONE of whom are voting for McCain. I emailed him and told him it was a WASTE and it was APPALLING. That hour could have been used to drive home how insane and power hungry Obama is. And may have had an impact on a few ‘undecideds’.

I agree! I believe FOX is going soft in case Obama is the next POTUS (I am so praying NOT) they may want an interview or two from him. I quit tuning in because for the last two weeks I get only BO’s face and race news....I turn to CNN and they are running all of McCain Palin live shots. What’s up? FOX had Gomer Huckabee on tonight instead of the McCain NH Live Townhall so I watched CNN. What a disappointment FOX has been lately. Oh well, there’s Conservative Radio and Dr. Bill (Bennett) comes on at 5 AM. Sweet dreams!
