So will mine. People will get exactly what they voted for. If the country wants to vote for Obama out of a mixture of idealism, a hunger for change and a desire to make history, we can't really stop it.

There would be no bright side, no hope for next time (as the Dems would permanently rig the elections), but the people who put him in will suffer along with the rest of us.

If this guy gets in, the United States of America is toast, and the people will have brought it upon themselves. But we should not write off the electorate just yet. 50 votes have been counted, with about 129,999,950 left to go, including yours and mine. I will do my part, and if socialism wins out, I will wash my hands of it (and buy guns).

That part really gets to me. I know several intelligent people who are voting for Obama because they think it’ll put an end to a “horrible past” and will end disagreement between the races. Um, what? Given the church Obama spent years at and the philosophy he grew up with, if he wins, I expect his presidency will divide this nation on race more than it’s been in recent years.
