The thing that bugs me in Hart is more people voted R than D in the primaries- so who switched teams?

The demographics have changed. There's a lot of denial on this forum about how parts of the country have changed beyond all recognition. Its going to get worse even if Obama is defeated tomorrow night.

Clearly this means that Obama has won and we should just give up.

Dem. primary:
(13 votes)[4]
Barack Obama - 9
Hillary Clinton - 3
John Edwards - 1

YEP Guess this crap has to fall sometime - just like a Senator is going to be president for the first time since JFK. We could do this all night but the only thing that matters is THE VOTE COUNT!!!!

I’m delusional then. Let’s count all the votes in NH and then we’ll know.

Yes, it doesn’t look good, but the demos may have changed.
We are talking about 21 voters...lol
That’s two or three families moved out and new ones moved in over four years..not hard to imagine.

Just vote tomorrow and hope the undecideds break for McCain.
At this point, there is nothing else we can do.

Well I wouldn’t put it past the Obama campaign to have personally taken care of these voters somehow. They had the money to do it.

How could a group that voted for Bush twice now vote for BO?

Random, very unscientific thoughts:

Old salts are (four year gaps for each vote, mind you) are dying out.
Being replaced by the influx of "Mass-Holes" (liberal tax
refuges that bring their Democratic perversions with them).

And plenty of them are probably tired of the drum-beat about the
$$$$$ spent in Iraq and policing the world...but not thinking about
how Gawd-awful Obama's alternative French Flag of Surrender
approach to international affairs will be.

And yes, some previous Republican voters may have succumbed to
the idea that voting for a guy with more than average melanin will
make them feel so good about their progressive selves.

Final thought...don't want to be badgered by their Obamamaniacal
neighbors about having "stolen the town for McCain".
In a town with that small of a population, I can see Obama's
disciples making life hell for a neighbor if they just suspect
their neighbor voted for McCain/Palin.

Interestingly enough, there’s a notable drop-off in voter numbers.

I have no idea what’s happened in that part of the country, but it seems striking that, between these towns, fewer people voted than in 1996.

Without more information, it’s tough to really figure out much. A few families moving away are more than enough to account for that sort of variation.

I would have to agree. BHO getting 2/3 votes out of 2 Long time red counties is troubling in this early hour.

We cannot get depressed we have to go vote. If the Conservative Base stays home You can guarantee BHO will be the next POTUS.

I always thought that it would be a smart move for campaigns to hit Dixfield Notch. Get the "First Vote in the Nation" publicity.

Maybe I'll do it when I run for Prez.

Just reporting news... I'm not one to get too excited about a small number of voters in NH though - especially this election cycle.

Honestly, if McCain is going to pull this off, why not have all of the "early indicators" go in Obama's direction? It sure would make for a much more enjoyable time later tonight or early tomorrow morning!

So far, we have the following:

The Redskins lost which means Obama should win.

Dixville Notch went for a Democrat for the first time since 1968.

Hart's Location went for a Democrat for the first time since they started this practice again in 1996.

Next up... Guam.

Yes it does make sense. This is what a tide of disapproval for Bush means. I think people here are beginning to see what a drag a President with a 25% approval rating can be. Good night.
