It is now time for Atlas to Shrug...

As it appears that Obama has won this election, following Fox News calling both Ohio and PA for him, I think it is now time for the businessmen and women who run this country to make it quite clear what the consequences are to those people who sold out their freedom for empty promises.

Small business owners, your taxes are now going to be raised. You now will face the difficult choice of either cutting your costs by laying people off, or by passing the increased costs of taxation on to your customers. This time I want you to take the time to tell that laid off employee exactly why he has lost his job. Tell him that the Obama tax increase has forced you to take his salary and give it to "the middle class". If he protests that he is part of the middle class, then explain that he should make good use of the $500 he sold his vote for, because it cost him his job.

For the manufacturers: When you move your production facilities overseas because the US has the second highest corporate income taxes in the world, make sure your workers understand that their Union is mostly to blame, and they should go talk to them about why it was a good idea to vote for the guy who would make all union votes public.

For your customers: Explain that the price of your product has gone up because of your taxes being increased, and because the rising price of oil from keeping the caribou happy has forced you to charge them more. Tell them you tried inflating your tires, but unfortunately it did not put any more gasoline in your tank.

Consumers: When you go shopping, and are considering buying a high ticket item, when you change your mind, make sure that they know that if you had only kep that extra 3% of your salary.... the "chump change", you could have bought their item.

In short: It is time for us all to become John Galt.

Make them understand that capitalism requires capital, and unfortunately Obama gave the capital you needed to somebody who was more deserving than them.

Ask them how it feels to be "rich".

Tell them that you are sure they will be OK, because Obama told them it would be so.

Ask them how they are enjoying their "Change", and if they have any more "Hope" for the future.

And don’t forget about the pregnancy crisis centers -at least for as long as they are allowed to operate.

GREAT post... I would also like to know, does anyone here have a comprehensive list of which corporations supported Obama?...I’m already cancelling my subscriptions to the NY Post and St Petersburg Times down here in FL... Done with watching Fox news as well (except for Hannity).... Now I’m just trying to make wiser decisions in terms of day-to-day purchases...I dont want one single cent of my money going to an Obama-enabling corporation if I can possibly avoid it!

Thanks. It would take me some time, but I could cross check the corporate donations from Open Secrets, and also compile a list of corporate HQ's for the S&P 500. It wouldn't be easy, but it could be done.

Of course.... we would also want to put that money into companies that actually make money. We wouldn't be very good capitalists if we repeated the mistakes of the old "green mutual funds".

How about New Zealand?

I don’t say this to be like Canada People, who simply bitch and moan and want to run like children. A expatriation to the right place offers a real-deal chance

Until I took a job here in my last job transition, I was actively looking to work in a certain European country.
High taxes, yes, but it sought my skills, had for the most part a functional government and state without guilt-tripping, and was well-kept. I think a better deal for the people than Obamanation. C’est la vie.

I don’t say this to be like Canada People, who simply bitch and moan and want to run like children. A expatriation to the right place offers a real-deal chance at a fair use of your skills without having to support the layabout class.

Until I took a job here in my last job transition, I was actively looking to work in a certain European country.
High taxes, yes, but it sought my skills, had for the most part a functional government and state without guilt-tripping, exhibited a functional welfare state that distributed to all, and was well-kept. I think a better deal for the people than Obamanation. C’est la vie.

” Why would I do this and give everything I earn over a certain amount to the government to distribute as Obama sees fit? I won’t.”

I’m surprised you lasted this long, what with all those lawyers skulking about waiting for an excuse to sue you.

Yup...I’ve seen some good ideas already like giving your tip to the homeless bast@rd on the sidewalk and explaining to the waiter, that you’re on board with his thinking too! (For waiters that voted hypocrat of course) Just start the conversation off casually...how about that, the first mulatto president? for openers...and one should be able to tell.

Rush will explain we don’t have to participate in this, I know I won’t be. It has nothing to do with his race, but everything to do with the socialism godlress liberalism destroying this country from within whule these zombies are cheering.

On the other hand, is this the end of affirmative action? It really should be!

I’m not sold this guy will survive for 4 years frankly. And Biden’s just about as scary.

This thread and its comments are must reading, at least up to the point of this ping. There’s a lot to think about.

OK, thanks.... Now here is some more to think about:

A "red" fund could potentially attract enough money to eventually target "problem companies", and purchase enough shares on the open market to throw out the board of directors.

More: Remember Jesse and the Rainbow Push Coalition? We could brand a "stamp of approval", sort of like a "Union Label" that we could use to influence businesses behavior patterns. I can buy my goods from only those who agree with me, and I can publicize why they no longer get my business, and the business of the 50 million other Conservatives...

I can put that stamp on a movie with a conservative actor, and with hold it from a liberal movie. I can hit them in the wallet, where it hurts....

“Businessmen are realists, not revolutionaries. Sorry to burst your illusion.”

Businessmen are both.

Bill Gates and Buffet are hardly representative of most American businessmen. The ultra-wealthy fast become frickin’ eccentric paranoid weirdo’s. They are biologically predisposed to a CYA mentality — whose heads do you suppose would be first on the socialist chopping block? Don’t you think they can see the writing on the wall?

I’ll say the same to you: Talk to me in 2 or 3 years.

Besides, it would only take a small percentage of businesses to have a major impact.

There are mercantilists out there, I know. You saw a few very large ones fall after the socialist failure of F&F — it was beautiful to see them burst into flame and fall to earth. You play with fire (socialist Democrats and their “promises”) — you get burned.

“There are plenty of Libertarians who would already understand this concept.”

Yes, but I think the conservatives are WAY BEHIND on this concept.

Hell, most of the time conservatives argue in principle parallel to the left — it’s not NO TAXES it’s a DEGREE OF TAXATION — which is arguing the SAME THING. With this weak stance it’s only a matter of time before the masses clue in that the choice is really between “free” stuff and even more “free” stuff.

The left gets it. They know that to get a 10% tax they have to start by demanding a 20% tax. To fight taxes you have argue AGAINST TAXATION to have ANY HOPE AT ALL of maintaining LOW taxes. Conservatives love to call me naive on this one — all the while their taxes keep climbing and climbing. Reagan argued AGAINST government and AGAINST taxation.

We’re doomed if conservatives are our only defenders of the constitution.

“...share them with conservatives only.”

I already barter with like-minded business owner’s.

It’s a great way to save money.

Believe me when I say I will be working from now on to discover who is who in my circle.

Democrats will want to avoid me completely.

Conservatives tend to keep to ourselves, so we never really have a true "revolution" unless somebody like Newt Gingrich comes along with the right plan at our darkest hour.

I'm not saying I'm Newt, but I'm ready to organize the only way I really know how to hurt them. Defund the beast, and it will starve.
