Soledad on CNN - the new America, minority is majority not Joe the Plumber

Posted on 11/04/2008 9:52:20 PM PST by indianyogi

I said a while back, the country as you know is gone because of Whites who do not believe in their own country.

And I am a minority.

Something shattered today deep inside my heart because American value system of heard work, imagine and make it happen is now replaced by feel good, talk big, do nothing, grab other peoples money generation.

Obama embodies all these traits and America got swept away.

They;re all in the tank with Obama...what else is new?

I think we give them too much credit when we act shocked or disgusted by their comments. We should look forward with an attitude that calls the media what they are, a wing of the DNC.

In addition to working hard against Obama, we also need to work even harder against the media, they will and have been a big part of the GOP’s downfall.

It has nothing to do with white and black and brown. My wife is not white; but she shares the values of hard work and personal responsibility that you and I do.

It has everything to do with broken values. Plenty of white people have adopted the Oprah/Brittany Spears/Barak Obama culture as theirs. America broke tonight. But not because of color. It broke because the culture is broken—black, white and brown.

You’re right but don’t think for a minute it’s due to blacks, immigrants, or the most recent generation of young people. This society is suffering from deep veins of selfishness and narcissism, people lie to get ahead, America is not producing the leading scientists, we are skating by rather than accomplishing great things.

It all comes from affluience, we’re so rich we can indulge ourselves. Obama is an empty suit but he’s leading a society of empty suits.

Now, what will he do with it? We all think he’ll make things worse, but we’ll see.

I know I heard this and they were all gloating about the takeover of the minorites and how dems don’t need whitey anymore. In other words, whitey is just going to have to get used to it from now on because minorities will be a permanant majority from now on.

This election was not really about that. It was a referendum on the incumbent party. I don’t believe America just wanted change.

If Obama overreaches, America will recoil against him.

If we’re serious about working hard against the media the *perfect* place to start is right here on Free Republic. I say we need Free Republic radio and TV. Anybody second that?

This should also mean that racism in America is now officially over.

The law of unintended consequences.

That would be great.

We should stop being shocked by the media’s tactics and treat them as the enemy they are. Every time one of them is mentioned, we should replace the words “anchor” and “journalist” to liberal news commentator

america may recoil, but it will be too late. Too many barriers will be put into place because of marxist leaning of three houses. On the other hand... at least I will feel somewhat smug when I hear my liberals neighbors start complaining about higher taxes and liberties disappearing.

Absolutely. NEVER let a liberal get away with the “racism” charge again. This ends it. Forever.

I am not so sure, we are not only taliking abouy minorities, we are talking about minority groups not born here and not raised with some knowledge of American system.

I used to be one of them but only a handful of them

It’s not a white or black thing, it’s a marxist thing, but they are all too stupid to know it.

I remember my elders repeating JFK's words, "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country."

I don't hear that very much anymore and it's replaced with an entitlement attitude.

How? Six months from now, opposition speech will be gone.

Not if we prevent 60 and keep RINOs like McCain and Collins in line.

For over a generation our schools have brain washed our kids to be ashamed of our country’s heritage and to feel guilty for existing as a nation. Obama was a natural for the younger generation to glom on to.

Now what does the GOP need to do regain its popularity? First off we don’t appeal at all to the young voters. The college Republicans at UTA disbanded last year due to lack of participation. When you go to GOP meetings, the people are all over 50.

My daughter who goes to public schools has become conservative in her thinking simply because I explain things to her in a logical fashion that makes sense to her. The GOP never made the sale because they did not explain what was happening in clear language that people understood.

For instance, McCain never called Obama on his tax plan as a rebate to people rather than a rate reduction. He never related to young people as to what a growing economy could mean to them.

Oh well, we lost and it is time to get our act together and stick together. This is a new day and we need to spend our time educating people on economics. For instance, Joe the Plumber made more sense than McCain.

You all are seeing too much into this defeat of senator McCain. It is really very simple. GW Bush spent money like a drunken sailor, national debt went from 5 trillion to 10 trillion in 8 years without a single veto from GWB.

Then there was that unpopular war in Iraq run by penny pincher Rumsfeld. To top it all, Americans were allowed to borrow and spend using their homes as piggy banks. That house of cards collapsed just in time to fatally affect McCain.
