Steele, working with Gingrich and fred thompson is a good team to get things rolling.
I have been pushing Newt for Party chair.

I hope Newt considers taking it.
Steele has supported RINOs that endorsed Obama for crying out loud.
Steele would be perfect...Newt is still too hot...
Steele as RNC chair with Newt behind the scenes. Jindal/Palin 2012.
For non-Marylanders - this is a good introduction:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_S._Steele
Steeles mother was a widowed laundress who, he stated, worked for minimum wage rather than accept public assistance. Steele grew up in a Democratic household. However, as a young man he switched to the Republican Party.
After joining the Republican Party, Steele became chairman of the Prince George’s County Republican Central Committee. In 1995, the Maryland Republican Party selected him as Maryland State Republican Man of the Year. He worked on several political campaigns, was an Alternate Delegate to the 1996 Republican National Convention in San Diego and a Delegate to the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia that ultimately chose the George W. Bush ticket.
In December 2000, Steele was elected chairman of the Maryland Republican Party,[3] becoming the first African American ever to be elected chairman of any state Republican Party.
Why not Jeb for RNC Chair? He could give interviews for a few years and America would see that he wasn’t W. The Bush name needs some clearing, and only Jeb can do that.
I’m for Newt, just putting this up for discussion.
RINO ALERT!!!
Inspired by a drive to get back to the fundamentals of the Republican Party, Senator John Danforth, Lt. Governor Michael Steele, and Governor Christine Todd Whitman created the political organization the Republican Leadership Council
Obamas victory showed that the majority of the American people aren’t narrow-minded and don’t object to bi-partisan policy solutions.
I see this election as being more about hope than just change. It was about the hope that we can and should expect more out of our government an area where Republicans have disappointed, but economic conservatism has not. This election was a clear repudiation of the last eight years. I can’t tell you how many long-time Republicans have been in touch with me to say that they really wanted to vote for McCain, but couldn’t accept the rightward tilt of the campaign, which they had seen too much of during the Bush Administration.

Thank you to Lt. Gov. Steele

It is with fondness and appreciation that the RLC bids farewell to one of our co-chairs, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele. Steele will be taking a step back from some of his previous commitments, including the RLC, to focus fully on GOPAC, which he chairs. The RLC is pleased to partner with GOPAC for a number of events and look forward to continuing to work with Steele and his staff on future endeavors. I am personally very grateful for his efforts in helping to get the RLC to where we are today. Best of luck to him and to GOPAC in their very important work.

“I use the word tri-partisan to designate the concept of attracting Democrats, Republicans, and independents to solutions that unify most Americans.””
Stupid new words are a no no. Indies aren’t ‘partisans’ anyway.
Good!!!
