Conservative backlash begins against Barack Obama
Telegraph ^ | November 15, 2008 | Tim Shipman

Disgruntled conservatives are making plans to oppose his every move over the next four years, and - patricularly in some parts of the South - emotions are running high, sometimes spilling over into outright hostility.

Any hope that partisan rancour might ease after Mr Obama's historic election victory have been rapidly dispelled - not least in Georgia, where a bitter new Senate election battle is under way. Elsewhere, wrangles over continuing knife-edge Senate recounts in Minnesota and Alaska have ensured that the divisions in the run-up to the election persist.

Under Georgia law, a senator must win at least 50 per cent of the vote, but a third party candidate prevented Saxby Chambliss, the Republican incumbent, from doing so on election day and forced a run-off vote.

Republicans have begun running advertisements urging voters to back Senator Chambliss in the run-off vote against his Democrat opponent Jim Martin on Dec 2, warning that a Democratic victory could hand Mr Obama a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, giving his party almost unfettered power.

With emotions running high, Republican Congressman Paul Brown denounced Mr Obama as a Marxist, and compared his plans for a national service corps - to help out in natural disasters - to the formation of the Nazi brownshirts.

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany," he said. "We can't be lulled into complacency... Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler, what I'm saying is there is the potential of going down that road."

Conservative displeasure at the president-elect is not confined to Georgia. A Roman Catholic priest in South Carolina told his parishioners not to seek Holy Communion if they voted for Mr Obama,...

Conservative backlash begins against Barack Obama

What's good for the goose is good for the gander?

Or...

Do unto others as they have done unto you?

Or...

How 'bout a taste of their own medicine?

Democrats took it upon themselves, as early as 2001 and proven by memos passed around within their ranks. that they would oppose anything that Bush did or proposed, especially in the nominating of judges.

They demonized and lied and use whatever means possible to stop Bush and republicans at every turn.

Now that the roles are reversed, let's see how republicans can play the game that the democrats played during the last 8 years.

The democrats held together and their leadership was able to get their members to follow in lock-step to stop Bush and to demonize and decry everything that Bush and republicans undertook. Even when some programs were what the democrats might have done themselves if they had been in power, such as the medicare drug program and the no-child-left-behind programs, the democrats made sure that neither Bush nor republicans gained any credit for them. They demonized the war-o-terror and the wars in Afghanistan and in Iraq, even after most of them voted to allow and fund those wars.

I say, let's play hardball.

they’re not only trying to marginalize her so she won’t be a threat in 2012, they’re also, I believe, trying to bully her into going back to Alaska never to be seen again. I think they’re trying to give her a taste of what’s in store for her if she dares and tries to move forward with any presidential plans.

I have little hope that the RINOs in in Congress will present the Messiah with any real opposition.

Republican Congressman Paul Brown denounced Mr Obama as a Marxist

He IS A MARXIST. So what the hell is wrong with simply telling the TRUTH!!! Everyone of his stinking policies is pure Marxism. He EVEN ADMITS to taking courses and hanging out with Marxist while in college in Kaliforniastan. He hung with Marxists in Chicago. His pals are Marxists. His pals are anti-American, American hating Marxists. So, if the truth hurts, Obamanazi, change your ways.

The Conserbvatives are going to be the “Jews” of Germany and hate crimes laws will be the Nuremburg Laws.

Soon as Obama consoldates his power look for “Reichstag Fires” to happen. There will be a period of demonization of the target group by the media before the incident. At thus point in time it looks as if the Conservatives will be their first target.

Or I could be as many have told me, full of crap.

I have a theory. The big money boys looked at what the Republicans were fielding here and saw that this election would be the ultimate downfall of democracy - when the people would vote themselves all the goodies from the public treasury. So, 6 weeks or whatever ahead of the election, they set up the Financial Meltdown Armageddon Show to be played out all over the news and starting their cries for “bail-outs” so that they could rob the till before the mob and the rabble could get to it. It seems to be working for them.

"Rush Limbaugh, the doyen of conservative talk radio hosts, last week blamed Mr Obama for continuing stock market falls: "This is an Obama recession, might turn into a depression," he said. "He hasn't done anything yet, but his ideas are killing the economy."

I had the exact same thought. Rush is exactly right.

And we will continue opposing Barack until he's out of office. Unlike president Bush who from the get go received horrible treatment from the left, and in war time no less, Marxist Barack Obama, whose political philosophy is the antithesis of the America created and envisioned by our forefathers and our constitution, deserves everything we'll throw at him.

Unbelievable.

America is facing huge, serious problems and the populace promotes an untried, untested Corporal to 5-star General. It’s historic all right, but why is it considered progress?

... someone who has more drug experience than leadership experience`... say hello to “President Crackhead”.

And get ready for official multiculturalism, defacto reparations, and increased racial tensions (’cuz you know as soon as Obama’s administration starts getting criticized, they’ll play the race card).

It’s now official: America, once a productive country, is now dominated by leftist loafers.

“We’re giving Obama the same respect the Democrats extended to President Bush. That’s it! To quote from Hillary Clinton, dissent is the highest form of patriotism. And the patriot puts country before party.”

Remember the left wing anarchist nuts running thru the streets of DC the day Bush was inaugurated in 2001? Yeah—I want to see some crazy right wingers do the same for BO’s big day....

I hear from the lefties how we should all “give him a chance”. I oppose his every belief, his every stated policy and view, but I should “give him a chance”?

LOL! Why not?

Marshal Dillon gave criminals a chance to "get out of Dodge"

Or else....

Same employee of the MSM, same color of the candidate.. two entirely different "reports."

"Supporters of the opposition pelted Michale Steele with Oreo cookies and expressed their opposition with unflattering remarks, all in good tradition of democracy. . . ."

"Heard among the mob hostile to Senator Obama was "I don't want him to be president," an obivous racial, hateful remark. Bigotry has no place in democracy. . . ."

I-want-to-make-a-difference "reporters" are skid marks on journalism's clean shorts.

With emotions running high, Republican Congressman Paul Brown denounced Mr Obama as a Marxist, and compared his plans for a national service corps - to help out in natural disasters - to the formation of the Nazi brownshirts.

Two observations. First, I haven't heard anything about the "Schwarze Corps" being designed for natural disasters. Has anyone else heard this?

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany," he said. "We can't be lulled into complacency... Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler, what I'm saying is there is the potential of going down that road."

Any student of history knows Hitler was not elected President of Germany when he ran and was appointed Chancellor. Misstatements like this do not help matters.

Dodge was a metaphor for the United States.

So, the "next town" would have to be some other Country.

And excluding Israel, I can't think of any other Country I care about but this one.

The opposition party should oppose. That’s what we are here for. The Democrats did nothing else for Eight years. Why should we? What is all the whining about?
