Claims that mass immigration has benefited the economy have been 'wildly overstated' by the Government, experts said yesterday.
Record levels of migration have brought virtually no economic benefit to Britain, the House of Lords was told.
Ministers have repeatedly insisted that newcomers contribute £6billion a year to the country's balance sheet.
But an authoritative report by the Lords Economic Affairs Committee, debated yesterday, blew apart Labour's claims that the wave of immigration from Eastern Europe had enormous benefits.
Instead, it was worth just 58p each week on the living standards of the native population – about the price of a Mars bar.

The only benefits of wave of immigration from Eastern Europe (mainly Poles) is that churches in England started filing up.
The other advantage of the Poles is they may actually fight back against the Jihadists who flooded into England. The Poles know something about beating Jihadists - see Battle of Vienna 1683 AD. The Poles saved Europe from Islam them backed by Austrians, Germans and I also think the House of Savoy (Italy).
There were no benefits from millions of Jihadists who flooded into England - now called Englandistan. We are next with O.
There are great benefits to the countries of origin. They get to export their poverty and receive remittances to the families left behind.

The remittances are highly important. Countries that are organized but otherwise intensely poor, e.g. Pakistan, actually encourage their best and brightest to emigrate.
True. Indigenous Brits are leaving the UK as fast as they can. Hopefully they will not screw up other countries like Libtard Californians have done to places like OR, CO, NM, AZ etc etc.

A group of Pennsylvanians went to visit then active Senator Santorum at his D.C.office to air their concerns about the impact of illegals on Pennsylvania.
One of them asked the Senators aide (the Senator was unavailable) what is the benefit of illegal immigration to US taxpayers.

The Poles you mention, vis-a-vis filling churches and fighting Jehadis, are not the typical Polish migrants entering Britain. Those people prefer staying back in Poland and improving that country. As for the immigrating kind, mafia-esque is what many Britons consider a lot of them as.
The problem with Western Europe was that, when they started their industrial expansion in the 60s, Eastern Europe was still behind the Iron Curtain. No immigration from Eastern Europe could be expected. So, instead of going for quality, they went for trashy quantity.
This is not to accuse Europe of stupidity, because the same erroneous thinking took place across the Atlantic.

Personally, I would choose immigrants from Eastern Europe over South America any day of the week. Europeans are educated and come ready to contribute to this society. Many people in the middle class are descendants of European immigrants. Of course, if any are Mafia types, we should not admit them. From South America we get a huge number of illiterate people who need remedial education and medical services. Not to mention criminals like drug dealers and gang members.
Quite so. For Mexico they are the number two source of gross domestic income, second only to oil revenues, which are 65% of the economy. But if all these folks are leaving these countries what force is there that will compel them to improve their governments to a better form?

That was America’s opinion until Pres. Johnson and Bobby Kennedy in the 60’s decided to let anyone and their dog into the country to stay.
Now that dog and its puppies are biting the country in the ass.
