Senate candidate Al Franken has met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to brief him on the recount in Minnesota.

Republican Sen. Norm Coleman leads by 215 votes heading into the recount — or 0.008 percent.

Franken, a Democrat, told reporters after the meeting he is "cautiously optimistic" about his prospects.

He said he's eager to "roll up his sleeves" and get to work.

How is Franken going to pick up votes in a recount?

And please don’t post the typical doom-and-gloom about how the Democrats will taint the process and stuff the ballot box.

I want honest answers about how Franken could conceivably pick up votes. I heard that Minnesota is notoriously accurate in their vote counting. Any MN Freepers here?

He said he's eager to "roll up his sleeves" and get to work.

... "doing" the US taxpayer like he "did" the MN voter.

Disgusting piece of corrupt it-shay.

The Secretary of State, a Democrat, was elected last time around by a concerterd effort on the part of ACORN. He’s their guy. He has denied that ACORN has ever done anything illegal as relates to votes and elections. He has refused to investigate ACORN, citing no evidence.....

Just sayin’........

Franken:

“Harry I need 215 more votes.”

Reid:

“No problem Al - we have AT LEAST 215 dead civil war soldier votes from Hudson County New Jersey I can send you.

I even have some of Al Capone's dead henchmen from Chicago I can get up there. No problem.”

Franken:

“What about Bush investigating voter fraud?”

Reid:

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN AL!!!! It's NOT a problem - TRUST ME!! Remember ACORN?

Now excuse me, I have to go to the Gym and work out.

From and earlier article:

"If the state of Minnesota is unable to produce a definitive winner after the recount, the Senate could ultimately decide which candidate won the race – or that neither had won."

It matters who counts the votes. If I understand correctly there are hundreds of pairs of tellers, each pair with one Democrat and one “Republican.” If so, I can think of several ways to influence the count.

Well, with a Republican governor controlling the state, if they let Franken steal this election then they deserve it and I won't cry. I keep hearing Franken's ever increasing vote totals and have never heard of any increases for Coleman. Yeah, the fix is in, but if Palwenty let's the Rats get away with it then they deserve it.

The House did just that back in ‘84 with the 8th district in Indiana. They refused to seat the Republican winner, who had been certified as the winner by the Indiana Sec. of State. The House did it's own “recount” and fixed things so the ‘Rat candidate “won” by all of 4 “votes”.

When they do a hand recount, they will look at the ballots to see if they can gauge the “intent” of the voter. For instance, instead of filling out the oval or whatever next to Franken’s name, voters may have circled his name or crossed out the other candidates. Essentially, a study was done that concluded that Franken has a fighting chance because people more likely to vote for Franken are people who are too stupid to properly fill out a ballot. Ladies and gentlemen, the people who decide elections, idiots!

Harping on ACORN is barking up the wrong tree. It’s a failed campaign talking point and nothing more.

Minnesotans must have frost bite on the brain to let this hateful, shabby, miserable person get elected.

The problem with that is that in MN, as I understand it, the optical scan ballot is kicked right back out to the voter if it is filled out ambiguously, and not recorded unless the voter corrects it (or confirms that they meant to leave a race blank.)

Adding up the Franken votes seems like two kids dividing Halloween candy: “One for you (Coleman) and two for me (Franken); two for you and four for me; one for you and three for me....................

Franken will prevail via vote stealing — simple as that.
