Is there any cohesive, internet-wide movement to provide a gesture of thanks to
President Bush ?

How wonderful it would be if WE who care deeply for this great president could
express our appreciation collectively to him in a public way, before he leaves
office.

The vitriolic disrespect he has endured during the last four years has grieved my
soul.

Wow -- that is a good question. We need to et thing started now.

We MUST see this Great Man off and let him know that the REAL Americans -- the ones who love this country -- will always love and respect him.

Does anyone know if what Chaffer is asking has been put together?

You’re quite welcome. I was hoping the photo would be on the White House site

“Yes, I didn’t always agree with him but he kept us SAFE.”

I'm in the same boat as you. However I wrote a letter to the President about 5 years ago thanking him for doing a fine job in keeping us safe and taking the high road when it came to personal attacks against him from the left etc. The next year I was sent a picture of the President at his desk and since then I get Christmas cards from the President and Mrs. Bush.

kaslin: THANK YOU for another AWESOME DOSE!

FYI: The West Point cadets greeted their beloved Commander-in-Chief with thunderous applause — you can hear this applause and watch the President’s sweet reaction to it on the videoclip provided here:

MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST VIEW . . .

PRESIDENT BUSH’S UNSHAKEN FAITH
Pres. Bush reveals the guiding role Christianity played during his Presidency. Watch this amazing video here (it will touch your heart):

HOTAIR.COM
Reviewing his decision to implement the surge, Bush recalled the political pressures on him to retreat: “It was in this room that a prominent member of my political party said, ‘You must remove troops from Iraq because it could cost us elections if you don’t,’” the president said, gesturing around the Oval Office. “And it was in this room I looked at him and said, ‘You must not understand George W. Bush.’”

The comments following the above hotair.com post are predominantly positive, none more so that the following MUST READ AND SAVE CLASSIC:

“I think the guy’s a stud. I really do.
I think the party is a dud.
I think that the constituency is as well.
I liken it to my home state’s fans. They started out as GREAT LOYAL FANS. RAISING DA’ ROOF!
They unfortunately deteriorated to being such whiney hosers.

Bush did more than one thing right.
* Tax cuts.
* Steering us through the worst terrorist attack in our history.
* Then helping us get our economy really humming and sending the dow to 14000 plus for the first time in history.
* Liberating Iraq.
* Getting rid of Saddam.
* Seriously dismantling Al queda.
* Killing Zarquawi.
* Liberating Afghanistan.
* While everyone (including whiny week kneed, limpy spined Republicans -including repub voters) said “get out, and give up on iraq. He STOOD FIRM.
* Stood firm on Stem Cell funding.
* Delivered two GREAT scotus judges.

Was he perfect? Course not. But you tell me a prez in history that was ‘perfect’, with no mistakes and I’ll give you a shiny new Nickel, and a hearty pat on the back.
But IF NOT, I’ll give you a pat on the fanny and tell you to go stand in the corner young conservative and don’t come out till you–”GROW UP“

The President always seems to be at his best when he is addressing his troops. He truly shows his care and respect for them....and they for him.

I will miss President Bush and his lovely Laura.

It’s getting very hard to watch those videos without bawling, Deb!

But thank you once again for providing them for us to enjoy!

GREAT QUESTION . . . We MUST do something — perhaps something here on the DOSE?!

I’ll also contact the Texas Republican Party (particularly in the Dallas area) to see if they are planning something that we could help them with.

THANK YOU for the ‘article’ and the repost of the most poignant photo of the evening — there is such a genuine bond between the President and his troops, particularly those troops that have been wounded on the battlefield!

I couldn’t agree more; unfortunately, before we know it we won’t have any video to watch — at least for a little while.

REMINDER: Nightline will feature their interview with LAURA BUSH tonight. [ABC, 10:35 PM ET]

Can you imagine how many terrorist attacks we would have had, if Gore or Kerry would have been elected?

***How wonderful it would be if WE who care deeply for this great president could

We have the spot for it right here. If our wonderful presenters agree, we could use Jan. 20th to do nothing but a salute to Pres. Bush.

Each of our four presenters could take two years of the President’s time in office, telling us of the good things he’s done in that particular period.

And then we could all have the opportunity to thank him.

What do you think about it? Most importantly, what do the presenters think?
