Bristol Palin's Future In-Law Arrested

WASILLA, ALASKA (Dec. 19) - The mother of the man engaged to Gov. Sarah Palin's teenage daughter was arrested at her home as part of an undercover drug investigation Thursday, according to the Anchorage Daily News.

The newspaper reports that Sherry L. Johnston, 42, the mother of Levi Johnston, faces six felony counts of "misconduct involving a controlled substance." The arrest came after Alaska State Troopers searched her home.

Law enforcement officials released little information to the paper, saying the investigation was continuing. The charges against Johnston include second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, which the Daily News says generally applies to "manufacturing or delivering drugs."

Johnston's son, Levi, appeared at the Republican National Convention beside Alaska's first family, as Gov. Sarah Palin was tapped as the vice presidential candidate.

Palin's daughter Bristol, 18, is pregnant, and the baby's due date is Saturday. Levi Johnston is the father, and the two are engaged, although no wedding plans have been announced.

She doesn’t look like a meth-head, my guess would be prescription drugs.

At least he put a dent in the myth that a Prius is too slow for words...

No steve-t, but it might mean that this family has been given some attention by law enforcement authorities it might not otherwise have received but for their connection with the Palins.

So we get mass coverage of this but not a word about the rejected by pay raise.

I’m with Ann Coulter it makes me happy to see any media outlet go out of business.

Sorry, I only judge people by their looks.Especially, The ones who have their profile page full of pictures of themselves.

So that would make LilPug15: a cute, patriotic, and playful young woman.

Not seeing how that's bad!

I’m so vain!

What's "vain" about her profile?

A brief bio and pictures.

Most of the pictures aren't even of her.

Don't know about you, but I'd consider breaking a few laws to see more of her. :P

If you completely trust the parents of your children’s friends and are not on guard that they may have issues, then your looking at the world through rose colored glasses. The reality is that many of those parents have drug, alcohol and other similar problems.

All year long.

Buy/borrow a 12ga shotgun. You never know who might drop in for dinner.

Take the ferry up the inside side passage and spend some time in Ketican or Sitka. It rains, a lot, so be prepared.

Fly up to ANchorage and take the wistle stop train to Seward & wander the backcountry as you wish (here is where the shotgun might help you keep from being dinner) Take in the glaciers.

Take the train back up to Anchorage & refuel (food and such much cheaper here) Take the bus to Tok, or Coppper Center - EVERYONE ‘does Denali’ (too many tourists) so the path less traveled.

There a lot of packaged tours/hikes and several folks offer guided trips with float/walk segments - caution bring $$$$$$ for those.

The SoA has a website and many suggested tours.

For the less ‘outdoorsy’ (I RV now because the knees are just too beat up) 1 and 2 week RV tours are available as are guided trips if you have your own RV.

As always , tell your friends and bring $, we can use the help : )

If you have any specific area you want to visit or dates, let me know, I’ll be happy to provide links to known “good guy” outfits. One of the problems in Alaksa is that of the outdoor businesses that suddenly fail or leave, so you cannot count on adverts only, ALWAYS check with a local to ensure the outfit is alive and well. We have been caught a couple of times - going to visit an RV park only to find it is OOB or the ad was a ‘little ahead’ of the actual property completetion....

Merry Christmas.

Great reply. Especially when her daughter is expecting and soon will married into this family. Heck I ran a background check on the guy who is now engaged to my daughter and I deliberately made strides to attend events with the future in-laws to get a feel for who/how/what/etc. This sort of instance is really an embarrassment for Sarah for not keeping an eye on her kid and her future son-in-law. Remember in life you are who your friends are.

Children can manage to have sex even when parents try to watch there every move. It takes less than a few minutes to get a girl pregnant.

That girl made one mistake

God doesn't make 'mistakes'. I'm sure He felt Bristol would make a good mother, and so, He gave her the gift of a child created from love. Who are we to judge God's wisdom?

This wouuldn’t BE a news story if the person arrested wasn’t related to someone famous, so it would be difficult to report it without mentioning Sarah Palin’s name. Johnston was arrested for oxycontin, not meth. I think most people won’t think poorly of Palin for Johnston’s arrest. Even democrats, I mean especially democrats, usually have family members thay are not overly proud of, so I doubt most people will hold this against her, as they have not held her daughter’s pregnancy against her. Sarah Palin has nothing to be ashamed of for her inlaw’s behaviour.

We’re dealing with 2 unwed teens. Who will take care of the baby?

somehow I don't view two 18yo'ds as 'teens' in the same sense as 14yo'ds. Culturally, A meer hundred years ago, if you weren't married or well on the way by the end of high-school, something was drastically wrong with you!
