The Senate is a death trap politically. If we had nominated
a Governor like Romney & Huckabee instead of Senator Mccain , we probally would have won the election. McCain was just too easy for Obama to tie to another 3rd term for Bush. People voted less for Obama and more to fire Bush.

Frankly, Sarah should take Stevens place and work WITH Murkowski. We don’t need a reduction in Republican senators, we need all we can get.

The Senate will infect her, and the Senate (notwithstanding the fraud who is about to be the President) is not a good pathway for the Presidency.

Don’t run, Sarah, don’t run!

Stay as FAR away from the Senate as you can. That place is a political death trap. Stick it out as Gov., get reelected and then concentrate on the big prize.

Ugh, no. For Governor Palin, that would be worse than jail. The senate is a nest of vipers. Day in and day out, listening to the self-congratulatory speeches, the horrifying liberal spending bills, dealing with the likes of dingy, hairy reid. No, better she is out in the sunshine, where she can actually get something DONE.

I don’t support the idea of her in the Senate. Her forte is executive office. The Senate culture is built too much around “reaching across the aisle,” kissing the other party’s a$$, etc. I hope she stays as governor and builds her credentials there.

I cannot imagine Sarah wanting to move her family to that cesspool we call D.C.

“Frankly, Sarah should take Stevens place and work WITH Murkowski.”

Problem is — Stevens lost. Mark Begich (D) will be taking his place.

Political deathtrap? Didn’t we just elect two senators to fill the pres & VP jobs? Didn’t we just nominate a senator as our candidate?

Leftists are hoping that she shoots herself in the foot by moving on to that diseased, bloated carcass known as the senate.

"Senators are a dime a dozen.

And here I thought they were a million dollars a piece...

Perhaps it would be more correct to say that Senators are only worth a dime for a dozen, but their cost (and the damage they do to this nation) is now becoming almost infinite...

The Senate would be a step down for Sarah, and a useless position for her to be in, unless Republicans can launch a national, conservative movement to capitalize on Obama’s failures.

Too late, Stevens lost, and was replaced by a democrat.

If Sarah runs for Senate I’m through with her.

“If Sarah runs for Senate I’m through with her.”

???

God forbid! We might get a conservative in there.......

Why not? Many of the complaints about Sarah are her lack of ‘national’ experience. She could only help the senate.

Senators are a dime a dozen.

Nah. Those guys are a million bucks each.

They cost million bucks, but their worth is a dime a dozen.

So you're both right.

Why do people believe that being a senator is a step up from being a governor? Could it be inside the beltway blinders?

There are 50 governors and 100 senators.
Governors make decisions; senators read questions written by staffers and act like the Spanish Inquisition in front of committee testifiers.

Why would she want to be a Senator? Historically, Senators do not become presidents. She’s a good, popular Governor. She should just stay there and do a good job running her state. Obama will trash things good.

If she was to run for the Senate and win in 2010, then that may keep her from running for the Presidency in 2012. The presidential campaign will begin in 2011, and that wouldn’t look good for her to just get in the Senate and then announce her bid for the presidency the same year. She would look like these local politicians that run for any office that becomes available, and could hurt her.

A debate on the Senate floor between Sarah Palin and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg would be something I'd pay big money to see!!
