Hmmm, explains Murkowski’s attempted preemptive strike a few weeks back.

I’d be in favor of her in the Senate. Too few conservatives there.

Her decision, obviously, but I prefer she stay away from the Senate. She is a good executive who does not need to muddy herself with the do-nothings in Congress.

She should remain a governor, where she will get more actual executive experience.

Senators are a dime a dozen.

That's only in Crook County.

The Senate’s a dead-end for a young Conservative like Governor Palin.

I don’t think she should soil herself by being in the Senate, unless she has no plans to run for President.

"Sarah can do more for Alaska and her political future by remaining governor. "

I agree. With the current Congress there is nothing she can do that would help her politically. The dems are going to prevail in almost every instance, and she will only open herself up to more (fabricated) criticism by moving to Washington.

Besides, the budgets are down in Alaska, so she does not need to be seen as "deserting the ship"...she needs to fix Alaska first.

Unfortunately, congress is becoming a large ACORN, and needs a through cleaning out. And, by the time the current congress gets finished toe-tapping with obama for the next 4 years, their popularity numbers will be measured using fractions...probably in the negative range.

So Sarah...stay in Alaska and keep them wondering....

True, poor Sarah would’ve stood to make more money if Stevens had lost and she could appoint someone else. I mean you don’t give a Senate seat away for bleeping nothing you know.

I prefer she stay away from the Senate.

Me too. Not that she would necessarily be corrupted by the environment in Washington but people there lose all understanding of "common" Americans. Our future national leadership must come from outside the beltway.

FReepers, this is desperate spin - the last thing Palin needs is to be in the Senate. The lib media WANTS her to go to the Senate because it would keep her out of the presidential race in 2012. I mean, think about it. She goes to the Senate in 2010, then runs for President in 2012 and the lib media will crucify her for only being in the Senate for less than two years.

Palin needs to flatly deny any talk about her going to the House of Lords and state that's she committed to being Governor. And that's where should stay - as Governor, not keeping a chair warm in the Senate.

Does she want to go through the media anal exam again? Put her family through that? The media would go after 10x harder if she was running for President.

OTOH, she has been vetted this past fall. Anything they bring up will be old news.

I continue to be surprised by how many “lifelong Republicans” say they didn’t like her and that she cost McCain the election. I don’t doubt their Republican affiliation and know that many contribute generously to the Republican Party. I respectfully disagree with them but am dismayed at the opinions of many who I consider mainstream Republicans.
