Obama not ruling out prosecution of Bush officials for crimes in office

Obama not ruling out prosecution of Bush officials for crimes in office Jan 11 09:09 AM US/Eastern US President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday he was not ruling out possible prosecution for abuses committed under the George Bush administration, saying no one "is above the law".

"We're still evaluating how we're going to approach the whole issue of interrogations, detentions, and so forth," Obama said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC's This Week program when asked about alleged abuses under Bush.

"Obviously we're going to be looking at past practices and I don't believe that anybody is above the law," Obama said.

But Obama, who takes office on January 20, added that he wanted his administration to focus on tackling problems moving forward, rather than reviewing policies under his predecessor.

"My instinct is for us to focus on how do we make sure that moving forward we are doing the right thing," he said.

"That doesn't mean that if somebody has blatantly broken the law, that they are above the law. But my orientation's going to be to move forward."

> Also, if, say, another 9-11 attack happens and it is shown his weak and ineffective policies opened the door for the terrorists to operate in the United States and commit mass murder, boy-howdy, he would be in deep trouble then.

The tantalizing wish that we dare not wish. It’s a shame that the one thing that would fix Obama’s wagon that he would richly deserve is the one thing that nobody in their right mind would want for America.

GWB didn’t ask for 9/11 yet to hear some of the lefties talk you’d think he planned it!

Is Dear Leader referring to detaining and interrogating members of the Bush Administration itself, here?

Na, the media will find some way to blame Bush for it.

We need to move forward and make permanent my salvation by spending.

That’s what he really means.

Yeah. . .you are right.. . I forgot the First Law of Left-Wing politics: “Everything that happens is Bush’s fault, unless it is a good thing.”

It’s not about a mandate. It’s about using a majority in Congress and a complicit press to undermine the whole US system/society.

We’ll be hearing about it from every angle. But only here and a few places.
The rest of the media will be applauding and asking only for more.

The Rats will go after some lower level Bush people to throw some flesh to the ugly Left.

They will look to create enough government to strangle the American people.
The will do for America what Zero did for South Side Chicago.

And they’ll tell everyone it’s a good thing.

“Sounds to me like he is telling Bush up front that he had better make some serious blanket pardons.”

Amen. If I were President Bush, I would pardon every single person that ever worked in his Admin in the West Wing and/or in political appointments in the Old Exec Office of “any crimes that may have been committed as a function of their official office or duties.”

I would do it on January 19th, after the news cycle. Let it crash the Jan 20th parade.

“that smirk on his face. he thinks he’s above the law.”

That smirk comes with good reason. He will BE above the law, for all practical purposes, come Jan 20th.

As the chief Executive, he will BE the law.

After that date, only the House and Senate can remove him from office, and BC or no, that isn’t going to happen. No matter what case is before the Supreme Cabal, there is a method of removal from office, and, it doesn’t go through the SC.

You may not like it, and it isn’t even particularly Constitional, but that is the practical application of giving (or allowing them to appropriate for themselves) so much power to a federal government.

President Obama will control the stormtroopers. They will NOT be knocking at his door. As Rush says, elections have consequences. This is one.

""We're still evaluating how we're going to approach the whole issue of interrogations, detentions, and so forth," Obama said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC's This Week program when asked about alleged abuses under Bush."

It would backfire if they tried this. Obama is just throwing a bone to the left with the suggestion. I don't see him doing anything.

If he does blanket pardons, he is handing the issue to dems as he will be acknowledging unlawful behavior.

If he does not issue blanket pardons, he will be keeping a great issue alive for conservatives. One that could awaken the masses. Imagine democrat prosecutions for the war on terror while the economy sinks and they spend us into bankruptcy.

And the beautiful thing is that Obama will be powerless to stop the idiots in the House like Waxman and Pelosi from pursuing it. The media salivations will be un-precedented as well. Say what you want, the public at large is not worried about this issue. This is a media-left wing issue.

“No One is Above the Law” is a nice sentiment, and might actually even apply to Republicans that would assist in policing their own. In actual application though. . .

There's not going to be any "war crimes" investigations and/or indictments of anybody.

These (carefully-contrived) statements by Obama are designed to continue and perpetuate the demonization of George Bush so that all bad things that happen in the new administration can be laid at the doorstep of the old one.

Friends, the demonization of the President started intentionally years ago.....and was and is one of the most successful (communist Alinsky-type) propaganda programs in the history of our country.

"Bush" is now a "trigger word". A "trigger-word" is a word designed to invoke an instant good or bad emotional response in the hearer. "Hitler" is a trigger word. "McCarthy" is a trigger word. Trigger words have been tools in the kits of propagandists from time immemorial, not just today.

The Obama-ites will continue to use the "Bush" word as long as they can. Never underestimate the propaganda and mind-manipulating abilities of the trained, evil brains behind the Obama throne.

So don't fear any post-inauguration witchhunts and trials. It's part of the program. All Obama's breast-beating words do right now is to reveal a frightening and twisted sickness in some corner of his mind as he goes along with the planned agenda.

Obama will not be a normal-thinking person as we are used to see in our historical leaders, revered or not.

Obama is different, devious and dangerous.

Gads, I hope they start the prosecutions right away.

That way, the shooting can start almost immediately...

Obama, with his past associations, has probably already broken more laws than Bush has ever broken. Then, if it turns out that the birth certificate is not valid, then - maybe - we will really see the sparks fly.

If obama and his lefties can incriminate the Bushites, then it will do two things:

1. Satisfy obama's far left bush-bashers;
2. "Innoculate" obama for his future crimes in office...i.e. "yeah, but look what bush did".

It will happen, if allowed — that is they have the will, they have desire, they have the need to do so. As to what will stop them? Likely nothing at this point.
