MARCH ON WASHINGTON - NOW!
Hildy

Posted on 02/06/2009 8:10:41 PM PST by Hildy

I'm at my breaking point..the point where you have to do something...just for your own sanity if nothing else. I think we need to get with some other groups, Grassfire and Resistnet and put together a March on Washington. I think the person to put the word out is Rush, and we'll do the rest....Who would be in with this?

Next April is not a year and a half.

Great suggestions. Here are some others:

Barter and trade as much as possible.

Pay cash if you can (some will give you better price paying cash).

Shop at garage sales, thrift stores and craft fairs.

Start a garden. Trade the produce

Hunt if you know how. Trade the meat.

Here is a site where people can GIVE and GET stuff for free. I’ve done both on it a lot. (I even had someone who wanted vines I’d cleard out of my garden ... she dries them and makes wreaths with them, sells them at craft fairs).

http://www.freecycle.org/group/US/?noautodetect=1

They won’t listen to us. Starve them out!

April 15 is coming up...I vote for a Tax Cheats Unite in Protest day!

That would be the most effective and immediate protest. The worst that could happen is we would all have to pay it later back with interest. It's no worse than the people abandoning their homes and jobs for the atlas shrugged movement.

Most folks can’t make it to DC for one reason or another

You’re better of trying to do something like Glen Beck did with his support the troops rallies in different cities and states

You’ll have a better chance on getting people to show up when it’s closer to their homes

This really is central to Atlas Shrugged, Ghandi and Dr. King's non-violent, non-cooperation successes. I think you are on to something, and it's so much easier when we have such a "Shovel Ready" economy.

Yup. One of the turning points of the civil rights movement (way before it became perverted/inverted) was the images of peaceful protesters being attacked with bully clubs, dogs, etc. While one doesn't know exactly what would happen the key is to have as many cell phone cameras (and any others) documenting everything possible such as police (not a given enemy until proven as such), the size of the crowd, the strident but peaceful nature, the actions of counter-protesters, recording the media recording us, etc.

Cameras, cameras, cameras are so important. Oral testimony will never trump actual video evidence plus cell phone cameras can be uploaded to the web or an alternate server so that confiscation will not necessarily mean a video has been eliminated.

I think Chicago would be a key spot because of the corruption that sprung from there and moved to DC and headlined this mess and because Daley would probably copy, in a little lower key, the same actions his dad did 41 years ago. No need to do anything but show up with banners - Daley and goons would take care of the rest.

You pay your estimated taxes due and apply for an extension to complete the tax form.

Oh man you nailed it. And follow that up with July 4th. And then September 11.

Modern day equivalent of the Boston Tea Party. Seriously, they don’t care about what we think when we call, write, fax. They would ignore the march, as another poster said they did with the March for Life. I do like the idea of individual marches on individual capitols.

But honestly, if millions refuse to file/pay their taxes, what are they going to do? How can they follow up on everyone? And if they try to stick me with a penalty or fee, I’ve already got my answer...

“It was an honest mistake. I’ll pay a penalty and interest when the Secretary of the Treasury pays his penalties and interest.”

You have to keep in mind, a lot folks can't afford to do that for one reason or another Though you can get them to come out and protest in their local area You will need a number of big radio host to sponsor such a thing and get the word out

Nice list but you left out the American Agriculture Movement’s March of tractors in either ‘78 or ‘79. They stayed a long time and even plowed up and releveled large grassy sections of the Mall.

Really big mistake...especially in Chicago. If the media covered it at all it would be one protestor who sneezed and someone, not anyone who go beat up protesting. It would be used as propaganda to support their agenda.
