Islam group urges forest fire jihad

AUSTRALIA has been singled out as a target for “forest jihad” by a group of Islamic extremists urging Muslims to deliberately light bushfires as a weapon of terror.

US intelligence channels earlier this year identified a website calling on Muslims in Australia, the US, Europe and Russia to “start forest fires”, claiming “scholars have justified chopping down and burning the infidels’ forests when they do the same to our lands”.

The website, posted by a group called the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Network, argues in Arabic that lighting fires is an effective form of terrorism justified in Islamic law under the “eye for an eye” doctrine.

Too bad Australia has banned guns.
What's the history of that? The people voted gun bans into law?

>When will the American populace see Islam for what it really is?<

It’ll take a very long time — we just put one in the WH.

We are too politically correct to even contemplate that.

The posting — which instructs jihadis to remember “forest jihad” in summer months — says fires cause economic damage and pollution, tie up security agencies and can take months to extinguish so that “this terror will haunt them for an extended period of time”.

guess there'll be no donations or sympathy from this lot, BUT IT'S GOOD TO KNOW HOW THE AUSTRALIAN MUSLIMS THINK:

"They burned in this life, and will burn in the next. النَّارُ وَعَدَهَا اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

"I got an email asking for blood donations, entitled 'Australia's worst bushfire disaster: Victoria 09 - what can we do?' (kind of reminded me of another email - 'Gaza Massacre - what can you do?', but the latter deserved attention, and the former deserved the trash can). There's no way my blood is going to run in the veins of some kaafir, nor will I be going out of my way to show any sympathy, pity or offering help. These people are muharibeen, and under the threat of Allah'a 'adhab.

"So my attitude is ha ha serve you right, but may Allah spare the Muslim Ummah of a similar affliction." "My husband read other news and told me of something phenomenal , the bushfire which they calculated happened and was heading at an expected direction. Families of firefighters and those involved were told to stay at a certain area which they through their technology predicted very safe. The course of the bushfire changed violently and like a sea of fire rushed through and was coming so fast those families didnt have time to escape. It came so fast it burnt the trunks of trees and the leaves on top were still green. It was as if it was a deliberate act of God. For a nation which seem indifferent about the mass murder of other people around the world, it would seem that one ofa small scale has boomeranged home."

VICTORIA Police soon expect to release a photofit image of a suspected arsonist in the Churchill area days before the Gippsland inferno.

Crime Department Assistant Commissioner Dannye Moloney said two separate arson investigations were under way in the Churchill area in central Gippsland.

“Approximately five to seven days beforehand there were a number of other fires up in that area,” he said.

“There are suspicious fires out there. The Churchill fires, as far as we can conclude at this stage, must be considered as suspicious and that is being investigated as we speak.”

We are thousands of miles away, but I grew up in Victoria and know the region where the fires are very well. It’s always very dry in summer, but this year has been particularly hot and dry, with temperatures around 117 degrees.

Can’t do much but donate and pray...and hope the arsonists are caught and locked up.

Thanks for the ping.

This Australian summer (2009), we have had extreme weather (and a heatwave, in southern parts of Australia, mostly “inland” - but even Tasmania!). Victoria and South Australia to mention two key States for bushfires. Temperatures in upper 30’s, and, up to mid 40’s Celsius, on an ongoing basis & continuous days, longer than usual (and, no respite inbetween). These bushland/forest areas usually are dry, much more so this summer, with tragic results (not just due to bushfires).

Similarly, extreme weather conditions caused massive flooding in Northern Queensland (Ingham for example) in Feb 2009.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/02/07/2484964.htm

Other factors to consider: Dry & strong winds, mostly from mid Australia, which is mainly desert, little to no percipitation, close to both Victorian and South Australian States. A combination of very strong winds, some close to 30kms per hour or stronger, which can change direction at very little notice in advance for the weather bureau, hard to forecast in advance, can combine with dry weather conditions, and bush/forest areas, to add fuel to fire, resulting in what we have seen this summer in parts of Australia.

Unlike the US, where rural residents are forced to evacuate well before the flames arrive, many of those living in Australia’s sparsely populated bush are prepared to defend their homes from wildfire. National radio spots commonly remind people to be ready or leave early: If you can see the flames, it is too late to leave.

The stay and defend approach became common practice throughout Australia after the country’s previous most deadly fires in 1983, when 75 people were killed – most in their own homes. Officials stress that those who are not prepared to stay – or lack the nerve to see it through – should not attempt the strategy.

Quite of few who died this summer, according to Australian MSM, chose to leave the fire-storm affected areas too late.

Major Australian bushfires:

February 1967 - The Tasmanian fires killed 62 people and burnt through 264,270 hectares in the state’s south in the space of five hours. The worst of the 110 fires was a blaze which ripped through Hobart, destroying many homes.

February 1983 - The Ash Wednesday bushfires claimed 47 lives in Victoria and 28 in South Australia. About 180 bushfires raged in both states, the largest of them starting in Victoria. Within days the fires had burnt through 520,000 hectares, destroying 3700 buildings, 1000 farms, 340,000 sheep and 18,000 cattle.

January 1994 - Four people died and a million hectares of bushland was destroyed when fires spread out of control in Sydney and surrounding areas.

January 1997 - Three people died in Dandenong Ranges fires in Victoria.

January 2003 - Firestorms fanned by high winds hit Canberra on Saturday January 18, 2003, killing four people. The fires swept through several suburbs causing massive destruction of homes, forests and parklands.

January 2005 - A bushfire killed at least eight people* and destroyed property on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. The death toll is expected to climb as the blaze continues to burn out of control.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/Major-bushfires-in-Australias-history/2005/01/11/1105423483769.html

Prior to 2009, we have not had so many deaths due to bushfires in Australia.

Arsonists have ALWAYS been suspected (since 1983 at least), and, mostly, are responsible for deliberately lighting fires, during summer and in extreme heat in Australia. Without wanting to hold a specific group of persons responsible for such callous and murderous acts, these “arsonists”, I think, should be held for more than just arson. And, Australian authorities should always improve both their anticipation of such situations & weather conditions, as well as their ability to deal with it, before, and during these events, and all around.

Thanks. Always good to keep the facts straight. This article was written last Fall.

The idea of jihadists setting forest fires in multiple locations across the country has come up in the past and it’s certainly something to keep in mind.

Thanks, I noticed it was written in Sept 2008. As you say, always good to keep facts & history in sight regardless of floods, bushfires, black ice and so forth. Those jihadis can be so damn clever.

Enviroterriorists are the ones doing this.

I attempted long ago to inform on arson jihad. It’s been done in Israel as well as our multiple fires in California.

If you think about the weather doing the many fires in CA, the odds were impossible... as well as the timing of all the fires.

Look at France and it’s many fires, the Taliban with the burning of schools and people, Africa and it’s churches (some with people inside), London, the burning of Pali Christian churches, Egypt and Turkey as well, look back in Bosnia, look at India and when beneficial, their own or others mosques (to blame others, also in the ME), Hyderabad and even the liquor stores in Oakland.

Consider this from Gates of Vienna as well re: Malmo and students:

http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com

Some have noticed the rash of bank robberies, next it will be revealed the number of rapes rising and who commits them. We’ve already had honor killings, women kept as slaves in muslim households and beheading here in the US, that doesn’t count the many synagogue, mall, school attacks related to Islam where details are not reported.
Also watch Islam and the courts (google it), CAIRs years plan for the USA, lawsuits and concessions for prayer times, dress, madrassas without curriculum forwarded to state boards of education, university groups, demands re: halal/prayer in public schools, sharia financing (already here at least two years via CT, who wanted to place pols on staff re; Catholic church finance boards/ironic). We can look forward to more intimidation techniques this year (their population is at the point now).
