Okay, I posted to the Florida board and I heard back from no one interested in helping out to get something set up locally. Below is a good starting point that I borrowed from a W. Va Freeper getting started in his neck of the woods. I think this is a good starting point that can be massaged. Is anyone interested in teaming up with me to get something worked out in Central Florida? No one else is going to do it except us.

There is an active Christian Coalition in Florida, with a number of county and regional branches. The state Executive Director is former Florida legislator Dennis Baxley who lives in Ocala, though I don’t know him. I would strongly suggest working with them, either as a separate group or not.

They have a small paid staff and their website is “ http://www.ccfla.org/ “

if anybody is in Miami there is someone who should be a great resource down there. Starting around 1970 there was a very active Florida Conservative Union, they had meetings with thousands of people. The last chairman, in the late 90’s early 2000’s was long time activist Mike Thompson of Miami, active since the Goldwater campaign. Earlier he had been the Dade GOP Chairman, run for Congress, was the state GOP Vice Chairman and a GOP candidate for Lieutenant Governor. He is still a conservative author and writes for Human Events, but is pushing 70 years of age. This guy should know where the bodies are buried. If he is willing he should be involved. Also there are a number of Congressmen who are 100% conservative, and likely they have conservative staffs. They are normally willing to speak to groups like this, if it fits their schedules.

A woman by the name of Lisa Foroli (sp?) emailed the Bud Hedinger radio show (on http://www.540WFLA.com) telling him that she wondered if anyone, other than her, in the Orlando area would be interested in putting together a protest against Obama and his mortgage bail outs for irresponsible people.

He gave us her email over the air and posted it on his website. I contacted her a few minutes ago and asked her if she was interested in joining us FReepers and maybe attending our regional convention. I sent her a link to this thread and gave her my email address if she wanted to contact me. I’m sure she will get a lot of response today.

She needs all the help and advice she can get so I hope many of you - and especially Roos_Girl - will contact her directly at her email below. It is so good to hear from other Americans who feel the same way I do. We have received about 100 emails from people who got the information from Bud Hedinger. Great to hear from you! Wow! You check out FR daily? That’s fantastic! Yes, I’m in the Zellwood area - just a little north of Orlando. I’m the Central Florida Chapter leader of the Free Republic Network and FR activists have been involved with political stuff here, and all over the US since 1998. (I have war stories like you wouldn’t believe :) There are quite a few “FReepers” in Florida, and some pretty active ones right here in Orlando and environs.

For instance, FReeper “Roos_Girl” (Marci) works in downtown Orlando right across from Lake Eola (or at least that’s where she was working the time we held our “Swift-Boat Veterans for Truth” FReep against Kerry at Lake Eola).

Roos_Girl is the one who started the “call to action” thread I linked you to in my email. I suggest that you work with her to co-ordinate a protest (I am too distracted by dental appointments, etc. at the current time - I broke a tooth).

I will have Marci (Roos_Girl) contact you so that you two can deal directly with each other rather than through me. I will help as much as I can as a backup.

You may want to register to post on FR, if you haven’t yet, as it gives you one more tool of communication. You will be able to send private “FReepmail” to posters in addition to participating with them on the various threads. At the bottom of my posts to Roos_Girl and hers to me that I’m copying you on below, you will see examples of the options you have after you sign up to post. The option that says, “Private Reply”, is the one where you can send the poster a private “Freepmail”.

Sorry I forgot to ping you, too. I don’t know if Bud has an audio archive of his shows or not, but I know he does have a daily blog that he updates after each show.

I am hoping that we might be able to coordinate our FReeper Convention in such a way that those coming in from out of town may also have a chance to participate in the “Tea Party” protest along with the rest of us who live here.

Lisa said on the radio yesterday that the earliest dates open for a permit to hold a demonstration in the band shell in downtown Orlando at Lake Eola, is either on Saturday, March 21st, or Sunday, March 22nd. She will pick one of those two days, and I’m betting it will be the Saturday date.

Bud is going to stay very much involved in working with Lisa in the “Tea Party” protest at Lake Eola, so you may keep checking back on his web site to stay abreast of the developments and listen to the live streaming audio of his show if you like at this link: http://www.540wfla.com/pages/bud_hedinger.html
