Yes, the rebels could head west to start over, and face conflicts with the native Americans who understandably wanted to kill them. The frontier even in western PA at that time was sparsely settled and not entirely pacified.

you said it all....the constant and silly glorification of pop culture is sickening, and to see it here on Fr is very disturbing......

I like sports and music and real culture myself....but to sit and watch a group of arrogant leftists parade around in their million dollar outfits and somehow find that meaningful in todays society....well, it is what it is and our country is what it is for a reason.

When a leading comedienne can say “Jesus, suck it” in public, I believe that is when God, should he actually exist, decides to stop delivering the miracles. And Nov. 4 probably confirms such a course of action by Him.

I’d be surprised if the welfare deadbeats even know of Zimbabwe, much less the current conditions in that country.

The mob is actually waiting to be released to take care of those of us who resist the change...

I would prefer to just cut government and start over...

If people would just realize that the sun will still rise and fall without the government dictating that process...

The same must be realized by the people that government cannot sucessfully dictate a free people...

We have just allowed the weed of government to live much to long in our yard...

Life has a way of asking one single question over and over again: "How bad do you want it?"

Whether it is to save a failing marriage or relationship, a business or career, a need to change a lifestyle or bad habits to something better, a need to find a calling or higher purpose or simply to satisfy the desire for a better life or to achieve a goal, there is that question to be answered: "How bad do you want it?"

From the perspective of losing our American lifestyle, our system of capitalism or even our Republic and its Constitution, the foreign usurper, the man without a past, the man the msm refuses to question is potentially a blessing. He is forcing us to answer that question about our country and its future: "How bad do you want it?"

Once that question has been honestly answered, the question then becomes: "What are you going to do about it?"

Good point - we will find out...

“Why these people want to be like Zimbabwe is an absolute mystery to me.”

I hope that we are not "done in just yet". I think that there is still a large "moderate" group out there that still are a determining factor in the elections. Their numbers are, however, shrinking....most of them going over to the deadbeat contingent.

I contend that it still may be possible to convince enough of them to vote conservative in 2010.

....but I must admit it ain't looking good.

....meanwhile, my powder is dry....

That well may be. But the special and divine founding of our country, the phenomenon that is America’s history, and the fact that the fate of the world is in our hands, necessitates that we cannot give up, ever!

Rush read this article over the air. It has been apparent from articles past, and for good reason, that Dr. Sowell is increasingly pessimistic. Yet he gives us a few kernels of hope.

I am hopeful once the financial impact of Obama's policies are felt (hard to believe he's only been in there one month), it won't take our very impatient populace long to tire of him.

Well said...I think many of us are hoping the same thing, many of his staunch supporters are in for a very big disappointment when they wake up.
