PBS Talk Show Host Tavis Smiley and a variety of America's black leaders meet in Los Angeles, CA, for the 2009 "State of the Black Union." This day-long event is titled, "Making America As Good As Its Promise." This event will re-air on C-SPAN2, Friday, March 6 at 8pm (ET).

I forget...when is the State of The White Union again? I also was looking for the date of the State of the Hispanic Union, but couldn’t find it either.

And we need this why? Are my black neighbors not part of my nation as well? How do black American expect to be part of America if they constantly insist of excluding people who do not look like they do?

Oh and where is our post racial President. Shouldn’t he be helping with the healing or was his promise of a different dialogue between the races simply one more campaign con?

Living in L.A. , the only times I see blacks are when they try to threaten passengers on the Red line and Blue Line.
And yes, Im not racist. I have witnessed it multiple times. So flame me..

I watched some of it. Jesse called for squatters to stay in foreclosed homes and for many more govt grants for college, Maxine Waters went on a rant about the banks and loans. Morial wants blacks to make sure the stimulus money gets to “them”. A few others stated we are not “post racial” because Obama got elected, we still have to fight for our pie etc...bashing whitey...

To think that there would be anyone who would have the guts to stand up and call this what it is-blatant racism.....someone not on a blog,or on FR,or on any other website,but in the PUBLIC SQUARE,is to wish for the unattainable. For once-just ONCE!- i'd LOVE to see someone on a huge national stage come out and say "I don't know about all of YOU, but I for one am SICK and TIRED of the racist card being played at every available venue in this country-and being played by the very people who claim to abhor such segregationist racism!"
