Loudmouths like Limbaugh not helping to unite nation (Saturday Barf Alert)
The (Sharon, Pa.) Herald ^ | March 7, 2009 | Lynn Saternow

Posted on 03/07/2009 1:22:55 PM PST by Ogie Oglethorpe

In case you missed the cartoon that appeared in Newsweek magazine and other places a month ago, it showed a person near the edge of a cliff talking to an elephant that represented the Republican Party.

The person asks, “If Rush Limbaugh told you to jump off this cliff would you do it?”

Next frame there’s the person standing alone, looking down and yelling over the cliff’s edge: “That was a rhetorical question!”

However, that cartoon really says a lot about the state of the Republican Party today. When you have a talk-show host who speaks for the conservatives in this country, you’re in a lot of trouble.

Here’s another rhetorical question: Has there ever been a bigger buffoon than Rush Limbaugh?

OK, if you’re a Limbaugh fan, you’re probably thinking “Lynn Saternow.” But besides the fact that I’m a lot better looking and much more humble, I would never have the audacity to challenge the President of the United States to a debate.

However, that’s what the loudmouth did recently. Maybe Limbaugh was back on drugs again when he said it, but why would a president want to even acknowledge someone who bills himself as a “harmless, lovable little fuzz ball.”

Lovable?

The best thing about Limbaugh is that he makes the conservatives of this country look very bad. After all, a short time ago he remarked about Obama: “I hope he fails.”

If Obama fails, this country fails. As much as I disliked George W. Bush, I never hoped he failed. Unfortunately, he did anyhow which is why we’re in a huge economic mess at this time.

Recently, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanual called Limbaugh the leader of the GOP. That was a great comment.

That really stirred Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele, who considers himself the leader. In fact, he said some unflattering things about Limbaugh, who then reacted by slamming Steele.

So now Limbaugh not only has Democrats bashing him, he even has some of the Republicans split. Man, politics are great.

We are facing the worst problems we’ve had since the Great Depression. If ever there was a time for bipartisanship to help bring this country back, it’s now. I’m talking about Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic minions as well. This is no time for Democrats to be bragging that they won the election.

It doesn’t matter who wins if the country loses.

It’s even time for people like Rush Limbaugh to decide whether they want to put the best interests of their country first or if they just want to improve ratings with conservatives.

The whole nation is on the edge of the cliff and needs a lifeline. If everyone pulls together, we can climb back up and return to being the greatest country on Earth.

Or we can keep listening to buffoons and keep throwing up roadblocks to keep that from happening.

The Herald’s Lynn Saternow writes this column each Saturday for the Opinion page.

Note to Democrats: When Obama is the best you can do, you’re in trouble.

The second one of these Leftist windbags lets the word “drug addict” out of their mouth, I stick my fingers in my ears. Such a sad, tired argument - especially when you consider that 95% of the Liberals I know smoke pot regularly or are either coked up or numb with Prozac.

When you have the White House directing an attack on a talk-show host because they don’t like what he says, the whole country is in trouble.

I understand this is a rhetorical question...but the obvious answer is the opposite of what he appears to think it is. How about we start with a list of the democrat leadership and work on down from there?

Loudmouths like Limbaugh not helping to unite nation

This emphasis on Rush as divisive to the nation is misplaced.  It's not up to a citizen to unite the nation, but rather it is up to the President of the United States to do so.

The fact that Obama ran as a uniter makes this case more compelling, but the truth is that he is being increasingly divisive (note that his polling increasingly reflects this split).  His socialist policies are designed to destroy America as we know it, and his vindictive agenda to undo much of Bush's and Reagan's work is not a sign of unity but a sign of totalitarianism, and most certainly craft a division so that this man and his political party can benefit.

So to sugarcoat his socialist agenda and the destruction of America, Obama and his minions (like the idiot who wrote this tripe) pick on individuals like Rush, Sarah, or Joe the Plumber to masquerade his dark purposes. Obama, the Democrats, and his sympathizers use Rush as a scape goat to cover Obama's real agenda.

Whoa. Waitaminute.

Last I checked, Conservatives (even though treated often like second-class citizens by the Liberals) are Americans, too.

As for uniting? With Liberals? Nope. Might catch sumpthin'

Last time I looked Rush’s job was to do his job. If they want him to solve all of the U.S.’s problems, they are looking to the wrong leader :-). It is not our or Rush’s fault they voted in incompetence and a bunch of thieves as their Senators. House members, and President. Rush never ever applied—LOL.

I note a continued lack of capitalization and punctuation.

Is there perhaps another language you would use more comfortably?

Are you a texting teen perhaps?

ROFL, hey Lynn don’t flatter yourself. There’s plenty of dumbasses worse than you.

P.S. Please do something about that haircut.

Those liberal *astards always want to UNITE when they have power. When conservatives are in charge, it's all about disruption.
