My Beef With Ann Coulter
Daily Beast ^ | Megan McCain

Posted on 03/09/2009 11:41:50 AM PDT by pissant

It is no secret that being a Republican isn’t the most hip political stance a person can take right now. President Obama has successfully established himself as the hippest politician around. You know you’re big when Katy Perry wears a dress with your face on it to host the MTV Europe Music Awards. To my fellow Republicans: I’m sorry, I wish I could be more positive about the current “hipness” of our party. But being a Republican is about as edgy as Donny Osmond. Granted, being “hip” is not a reason to join a political party, or a reason to agree with its ideals. But it is a way to get the attention of a generation—or, more specifically, my generation.

To make matters worse, certain individuals continue to perpetuate negative stereotypes about Republicans. Especially Republican women. Who do I feel is the biggest culprit? Ann Coulter. I straight up don’t understand this woman or her popularity. I find her offensive, radical, insulting, and confusing all at the same time. But no matter how much you or I disagree with her, the cult that follows Coulter cannot be denied. She is a New York Times best-selling author and one of the most notable female members of the Republican Party. She was one of the headliners at the recent CPAC conference (but when your competition is a teenager who has a dream about the Republican Party and Stephen Baldwin, it’s not really saying that much).

It’s not only a question of what’s hip anymore. Technology has made everything...should I say “obsolete?” It seems nothing is enduring today..values, honor, patriotism anything we learned years ago as children is no longer valuable in this age of throw-away gadgets and silicon chips. We used to vote for what was good for the country, not for this group or that cause. It degrades the human spirit, in my humble opinion, to validate things of little substance which are here today..fleetingly.. and of no value tomorrow. This is the mantra of Meghan McCain and everyone like her. She’s about as Republican as the ones who voted for this asinine simulus package....no thought for tomorrow.

Yes, it is soooo important to determine our poilical leaders by first determing the "hipness" factor for each.

The Leftist brain dead Obamaniacs truly fear Coulter....

She has more “balls and testosterone” than the entire DNC and most of the Republican “party”....and is bright, beautiful, fearless and combative..

How can a conservative NOT love her?

I guess if she has a choice between Obama and her old man, it's Obama.

I find Ann to be straightforward, clear, moderate, and sensitive.

Seriously, Ann can be blunt to the point of being rough around the edges. Great Caesar's Ghost! How long have we waited for such a conservative spokesperson who is in such high demand? I would say if Ann confuses a person, said person should never stray without an escort.

My ONLY problem with Ann is I wish to highest heaven that someone would give that poor girl a sandwich.

Otherwise, I'm happy as a clam to have her speaking for conservatives. Republicans would do well to study her lines.

Who the F**k cares what Megan McCain thinks? Her father and her are irrelevant. Hopefully, we can take McCain down in in the 2010 primary. We don’t need any more GOP mavericks.

I don’t know, because she was apparently kissy kissy times with Bill Maher and then she was in a relationship with Andrew Stein, the former president of the New York City Council, a liberal Democrat. She also dated Bob Guccione, Jr. who founded Spin magazine and writes for the Huffington Post. She has dated conservatives too, but I’m just saying what her history is. It just confused me a little is all, especially as hard lined as she is. I’m not saying I don’t like her, I just questioned her.

Megan McCain seems to have an inflated opinion of herself and knows that the best way to get media attention is to attack conservatives, especially conservative women.

“So you became part of the new breed.
Been smoking only the best weed.
Hanging out with so-called hippest set.
Been seen in all the right places,
Seen with just the right faces.
You should be satisfied,
But still it ain’t quite right.

What is hip? Tell me tell me if you think you know.
What is hip? And if you’re really hip.
The passing years would show,
That you into a hip trip, maybe hipper than hip.
What is hip?” - Tower of Power

Liberals & pop culture are concerned with personalities & style. Like, totally.

Thinking people hear the message, who brings it does not matter.
