If it weren’t Californicating as fast as it can, I’d say move to NC. Artichokes grow great here and you get actual weather.

The Dope growers do here in Humboldt County. They power them with huge commercial generators they steal from construction sites and they tap springs far from their “grows” for water...

He will be staying to help in the garden, you can bet on it.

Your comment here just struck me as funny, because for some reason my mind turned to dark humor.

I wondered how deep one needs to bury the helper to make maximum use of him. Course, help won't be instantaneous, because the fertilizer will need some time to get broken down first,,, wondering about composting instead of immediate burial.

Not sure I need to throw in a disclaimer here, because I already said that my thoughts had turned to dark humor. This post should in no way be taken as advocating violence against anyone.

I just had a thought for a protest. Let’s take our homegrown tomatos and jars of mayo to our respective town squares and eat the snadwiches in front of the city council and the news media. It would be better than a lukewarm tea party.

You could be right Gabz. Home grown food produces no tax income. However, the larger issue here is that people are going to grown as much of their own food as possible because it is more environmentally friendly. No need for costly, harmful chemicals, no need for laborers to pick it, no need for truckers to haul it, etc. Therefore there is less revenue.

I sure hope the grassroots efforts to be more self-sufficient can stop this horrible bill from passing. Nobody wants to be criminalized for growing a head of lettuce and a few radishes. If this bill gets passed that just might happen.

We barely have a mayor around here, let alone a council.
Maybe better to stage it at your local Fed Ag office?

One could display their produce, much like local LEOs display seized meth lab parts, stating to any media that all this is contraband! ; )

Any idea is a good place to start or the “local LEOs” will be displaying your tomatos along with your guns!

It’s funny, I’ve never felt like a criminal until now.
Weird what a mere month and a half can do to one’s soul.
This administration has taped one big “Kick me” sign on all our backs!

And display your hoes, rakes, and garden hoses as

“illegal food production equipment”

Right on, Mr. B
Throw in the kiddies, too, if you have them and they help with the garden chores- they are victims of unenforced child labor laws!
Oh the huge manatee!

You are not alone! (apologies to Glenn Beck) We found out last Saturday that the DoD had stopped the sales of all military used brass and now our gardening is under fire. I’m thinking of making a sub-sonic potato gun!

I saw that about the brass.

‘Tater guns! Wow, that takes me back.
Compressed air pea shooters would make for a fun summer project for my kiddies-I’m sure it would be simple to contrive. A big seller at our local crafts fair last fall were mashmellow shooters, made with PVC tubing.Similar concept, I would think.

Remember, vegetables don’t kill people, but veggies in the hands of slightly bored ruralites, do. ; )

Youtube has some that have been adapted for delivering tennis balls through plywood sheets at 300 miles per hour with 120 psi air. Think what you could do with a golf ball...

I guess the leftists don’t want me growing my own food. I will plant an extra large garden just to tick them off instead.

That has been documented on another recent thread

Would you or someone else point it out?
