While not exactly a film buff, Gordon Brown was touched when Barack Obama gave him a set of 25 classic American movies - including Psycho, starring Anthony Perkins on his recent visit to Washington. Alas, when the PM settled down to begin watching them the other night, he found there was a problem.
The films only worked in DVD players made in North America and the words "wrong region" came up on his screen. Although he mournfully had to put the popcorn away, he is unlikely to jeopardise the special relationship - or "special partnership", as we are now supposed to call it - by registering a complaint.

..well, unfortunately when that happens, Mr Brown can look (no pun intended)forward to,another American product being delivered, a seeing eye dog that drives, but only a left hand steering solar powered vehicle.

Look Bammer sent a staffer to the gift shop at the last minute with $50 which Bammer took from his own wallet.
The staffer came back with DVDs, a box of chocolates and an Entemann’s coffee crumb cake. The DVDs were the most expensive gift so they went with that. And they gave the British dude the recipe in case he wanted to exchange it for something else at the gift shop.
Also, the DVDs came with a $10 rebate coupon which the messiah kept and put in his wallet along with the 1.17 in change.
He did not pick the gift. It was not his fault. Everything was done above board! Geez.
Sound, picture ... nothing matches or is synchronized.
Like watching a bad Japanese older Godzilla movie, where the subtitles don't match the picture
Lesson learned.
Next month when he presents the Queen with the Tyler Perry “Madea” DVD box set-he’ll make sure they’re the correct format for the UK.....
I still wouldn’t be too sure that this was not a deliberate insult.
Obama thinks of himself as descended from Mau Mau terrorists. And this isn’t only a matter of history, since he actively supported the church-burning terrorist Railla Odinga, funded him, and forced him into the Kenyan government after he lost the election.
He hates Churchll and he hates England, with no exception for the Labour Party.
His orders went something along the lines of: “Insult him, refuse him dinner, exclude the British press, and give him the cheapest gifts you can find. He’s nothing but a white colonialist oppressor. Let him know what we think of him and his imperialist country.”
It seems like Obama is trying to do things differently, the change part, but has idea what works so he’s just winging it badly.

i have to admit, i’ve never been embarrassed for my country by the actions of the president... well, not since carter... or bjclinton.. oh well, when was the last democrat that wasn’t a national embarrassment?

What a wonderfully appropriate word! It’s 0bama without the crutchaprompter. It’s Hillary without her lying used car salesman of a husband. In fact, it’s almost all democrats... and a fair share of republicans.
